Because of the hassle, cost, or the fact many family are more spread out these days, many people no longer have a Sunday roast.

I have only one sibling, so my parents didn't have a huge family to feed. My mom made all the meals, but the roasts in your photos look like our Thanksgiving or holiday meals. We certainly didn't have "roasts" every Sunday.
Part of the problem was, my mom believed in cooking meat until it was devoid of moisture. I guess she wanted to make sure it was dead. So I always hated roasts.
We had some great feasts at my maternal grandparents house. We went there once a week on Saturday or Sunday. My mom and grandmother together, could put on quite a spread every once in a while.
I had to discover beautifully cooked meat once I moved out. But, since I either had a girlfriend or was single the rest of my life, I didn't make large chunks of meat like roasts.
My parents (well, it's all mom for this one) make such dinners, but not every Sunday. Even as a kid, it wasn't always on Sunday, though it was more likely to be Sunday back then.
I make such meals for myself on my own schedule, when I want it and have the time.
We had them when I was a kid, and we still have them when we can but they usually aren't on Sundays. My husband and I try to get together with both sets of parents for a good home-cooked meal at least every couple of weeks when we can schedule it. Getting all of us together in one place is a lot like herding cats. It isn't always roast either; my husband likes to grill, so sometimes it's steak or chicken.
Yes. I insist on a traditional roast every Sunday. Usual stuff roast chicken, gammon, lamb, duck, grouse, goose, partridge, deer, turkey, carp, catfish. Depends, my husband hunts a bit so it's not all stote bought. And of course the veg. Americans like "biscuits" that are basically bread, I haven't gotten making them from scratch right yet along with the yams

I make it once every couple of months or so. I even make the Yorkshire Puddings. I try to eat mostly veggies during the week and on the weekends make a nice meal that includes some kind of meat. I often fish, so it may include Walleye, Salmon, etc.
My Mom was a great cook!! We had roast on some Sundays but they were expensive so we didn't have them all the time. I loved when my Mom would cook stewed chicken in a red gravy!! I could make a meal on just that homemade gravy on mashed potatoes!! Man that was good!!
Sometimes in a crockpot though. potatoes and carrots added 1/2 through roast cooking. That count?
Traditional roast Sunday dinners are unknown in my extended family. Many on the other hand appreciate an occasional barbecue, mainly in the summer.
No longer every Sunday, we all try to go church together and all have dinner out after the mass.
Oh, I miss this. My mum was always on top of everything. I think she could manipulate time.
yes we do, but an evening meal instead of lunch time
I wish, but more than the half the family is at least vegetarian, and we don't own a farm any more.
I wish this was a common thing in my household.
it used to be before everyone moved out. We all stay in our homes on Sunday to recharge and cry.
I’m a “Live In” House Maid, I cook for my boss and her family comes over and I serve them dinner
When my kids were living here we did but now maybe every couple of months.
In my younger days. In the heat of the summer. We would have cold cuts, watermelon or home made ice cream on Sundays.
We usually do them here
Occasionally go out or have something different
I try to always do a Sunday dinner and most times have family dinner.
I don't think we do that here. But after church we go out to brunch.
Not as much since the kids left home, and we started golfing on Sundays
I had them as a kid, but no more
You're too young to remember Sunday Roast. We had it every week when I was a kid. You never appreciate what you had until it's gone.
We don't have a roast every Sunday. We have whatever my wife feels like cooking or we eat out
Never had one in my life.
Wish we still did that but, sadly, no.
BBQ's, grill... fire pit
I wish be that food right now
