Would you buy bowls and plates from a thrift store and eat out of them or is that weird? What about having food allergies? Lead?
Yes I would. I don't believe lead or any other toxic materials have been used in cooking wear in the last 100 years. Excluding radium glass, though that glass is very rare to find now days.

Sure. If they are pretty and something you need, why not?
My wife and I have gotten some pieces from thrift stores before. Naturally we wash them before using.

I've picked up enough earrings from various places over the years, once theyve been through the furnace and/or acid tank the metal they contain will be fineAny time I purchase dishware, I make sure to wash them before using. For me, that would be no different than buying from a store.
Of course. You can get nice things for very little money.
It's unlikely lead would be in dishware, and you wash the plates, so no food allergy issues.
yeah i would buy dishes from a thrift store then wash them thoroughly when i get home
