Parsley or Cilantro?

The 2 commonly used soapy taste garnishes. Cilantro tastes like dish washing soap while Parsley tastes like deodorant. Which do you prefer?

I searched for a Kebab recipe and the recipe calls for parsley. I never really thought that Kebabs really call for Parsley but I rebelled anyways and use Cilantro because I like Cilantro.

Cilantro is the leaves of the coriander plant and is also know as Chinese parsley, to those with a practiced good palette it has a fresh citrusy taste, to those with a poor palette it has a soapy taste. The taste is really not unlike the taste of coriander seeds which isn't surprising as they come from the same plant. Regular or Italian leafy parsley has a somewhat acquired taste but is actually quite good for you.

We grow both in the garden but its the parsley that gets used the most

Parsley. However I use root parsley leaves, those taste slightly different like magi seasoning or lovage and offer white thick roots which can be stored for winter.

A lot of good dishes are made with one or the other, but I use cilantro a lot more
