Celery or Celeriac?

Both taste of celery but ones a stalk and the other a root. Personally I think celeriac is more versatile in the kitchen and doesn't go floppy.

How do you want to cook broths or soups without Celeriac? (celery root) . There is short season every year when I use celery leaves because celeriac in supermarkets starts to decay and celery leaves are fresh. However once celery builds up knobs I prefer those for cooking. Root gives dishes much stronger umami taste than leaves. That's why celeriac is used in dried and finely grated shape in ketchup and other spicy sauces and food adds.

I like to try different varieties of food cause I think its good for your gut bacteria and immune system so I would probably try the second just cause I've never tried it before.

Honestly I prefer celery, but do not despise celeriac. I nearly always use celery cut into little pieces. A celery is big, and I noticed that it remains fairly good for a few days, because I only cut what I need. Sure I used celeriac the same way, but if the taste is indeed excellent, it has the tendency to become fibrous, not very pleasant in the mouth.

I thought it was a digestive disorder triggered by gluten. LOL just kidding.

I actually never heard of celeriac before. I asked my wife about it and she said she has seen it in stores. We'll have to give it a try.

I'll eat both but never tried celeriac. I eat most things though.
