+1 yI have salmon or rainbow trout which is related to the salmon and the same red/pink color. I usually bake it in foil with s&p, lemon juice, slices of lemon and a few patties of butter. In the summer I cure it over night with salt and brown sugar and smoke it on the grill on foil or on a cedar plank.

+1 ycook salmon at 400 if it's a pound and quarter to 1 1/2 pounds but check... if you see dark orange it's not done... also season salmon with dill... or pepper and salt or all 3 if you wish... about 20 minutes cook time... depends on the piece sometimes it's thin sometimes it's rather thick so you have to consider that too.

Am I to understand that in 28 years of life you never had salmon? How is that even possible?
Even our mediocre canteen serves salmon once a month (generally fish every Friday). - +1 y
@DryGermanGuy because i dont like seafood outside of spicy boiled shrimp/crawfish lol. Anything else tastes or smells too fishy and nauseates me. It wasn't until last year that i was told salmon would be the opposite of that. I pass it in the grocery store already precooked/bbq’d at the deli and am tempted to try but its just not something i really care to try
- +1 y
That's the whole point of observing food quality: NO fresh fish tastes or smells fishy, it doesn't matter if it's trout, tuna, coley, herring or salmon!
I recommend that you visit a top notch seafood restaurant, you will discover a whole new world of taste. - +1 y
@DryGermanGuy i dont like fish in general and tuna absolutely smells fishy as soon as a can is even opened. But i was mainly referring to catfish
+1 yI found one recipe that wasn't to bad.

You only saw that one seasoning? What about the Italian seasoning? Or paprika?

She wasn't lying
- +1 y
Yeah too funny. American "Italians" think garlic is part of Italian cuisine when you'll only find it in the south. Hilarious
- +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 I'll have to correct you. Look at my profile name.
- +1 y
@paulychicagoluv - What's your profile name gotta do with life when I was born in Italy? You're just an American pretending to be Italian. ROFL.
- +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 as are you. I'm trying to point out I'm not from the south. You imply things that aren't related.
- +1 y
@paulychicagoluv - I WAS BORN IN ITALY, IN TURIN. I'm NOT American you imbecile.
- +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 where do you live now? Moron!
- +1 y
"I'm trying to point out I'm not from the south. You imply things that aren't related." I DO NOT care where you are from American. I am saying that garlic is USED ONLY in the southern Italy. NOT that it is typical of Italian food. LEARN TO READ. Or should I write in Italian and see if you can understand that better.
- +1 y
@paulychicagoluv - "where do you live now? Moron!" That DOES NOT make me American you uneducated fool. I am ITALIAN. You ARE American pretending to be Italian and KNOWING NOTHING.
- +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 I know how to read, but your dumbass didn't specify southern Italy. Your dumbass just said the south. Maybe you should read what you write before calling someone dumb. Stupid morons like you getting pissed off because you're to stupid to realize how stupid yu are. You're a Karen aren't you?
- +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 you're avoiding the question, which is why you're stupid. You live in America now which means you're American. Dumbass don't know your butthole from your mouth.
- +1 y
@paulychicagoluv "I know how to read, but your dumbass didn't specify southern Italy. Your dumbass just said the south. "
Of course I meant southern Italy you uneducated fool. I specifically said that garlic is NOT used throughout Italy but just the south. Do you have the intelligence of a slug? - +1 y
@paulychicagoluv - "you're avoiding the question, which is why you're stupid. You live in America now which means you're American. "
ROFL, ROFL, ROFL, Only an uneducated American would think because a European lives in your dumpy little country we're on par with you uncivilzed mutts. Unlike you and your fellow Americans I have culture, history, traditions, etc... what do you have? You can't even do proper Italian cuisine. - +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 you keep calling me uneducated but you just pointed out your own mistake. I stand by my educated guess of you. you're stupid, you're a loron, you're a dimbass. Read what you write because you're making yourself look pathetic for rrying to call someone else out for what you say is uneducated. The ones who say stuff like that are usually the ones that have no common sense and or higher education.
- +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 sorry you feel that way. I actually cook regular Italian cuisine. Once again, you avoided the question because you can't fess up to your mistakes. You actually think calling me uneducated is harmful? Bro, you dumb. You call me uncivilized yet you're the one getting pissed off about garlic and how you can't speel put a proper American sentence. Again, you're a moron!
- +1 y
@paulychicagoluv - have you read your blubbering. You can't even spell dumbass properly. And NO American you DO NOT cook Italian cuisine. Obvious by the fact you don't know garlic is cooked in southern Italy. A 5 year old child born in Italy knows more than you.
See this is why Europeans laugh about you Americans. Pretending to be something you're not. - +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 again sorry you feel this way. You know a fun fact, people that try to point out others spelling errors are the most uneducated idiots on the planet. They do this to try to sound smart. Maybe a 5 yr does know something I don't know, but definitely doesn't know more than me. They know more than you because your intelligence level is below the line of being considered retarded. This is why Europeans come to America when they need help. To get better educations. Since you can't specify that you actually live here, you didn't follow up by going to a higher education of school here in America. So you kept that level of intelligence you got from Italy and brought it over here and became a Karen. You're still a dumbass that just went down to the retarded level of intelligence. The more you say, the dumber you get.
- +1 y
@paulychicagoluv - " people that try to point out others spelling errors are the most uneducated idiots on the planet. They do this to try to sound smart"
Oh you already proved you're not that smart & you prove it yet again. You after all dullard were the one saying that I couldn't write a proper sentence initally. I just returned the favour by pointing out you can't spell worth a damn. - +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 I said sentence. Bro, are you really this dumb, or are you acting? I said spelling. I didn't say a sentence. Again, the more you talk, the dumber you get.
- +1 y
@SakuraBlossoms87 how sad is your life that you had to turn a lighthearted question and conversation into this.

+1 yYes i fo like the taste of salmon. I cook it slow, low heat to keep all that fat juice in and always use some sea salt either on a a pan or in the oven. But smoking is the best way. So! Cooked/fried/smoked with boiled potato or mashed, lemon sauce, green peas

+1 ySure salmon tasts nice. I have my own way to prepare it: first baking an onion in some olive oil, then continue with steaming some different vegetables with different spices according my mood (nearly always turmeric, pepper, salt; then often muscade, coriander, canella in presence of a carrot or sweet potato, etc.). Once the vegetables steamed I just add the salmon to allow it absorbing the spices. Serving with rice is what I prefer.

Steemed. Put the salmon on the bottom tray. Once finished, dump REAL butter on all of it, and for me, dump 5 gallons of vinegar on the fish.

+1 yI love salmon. I usually brush it with olive oil, sprinkle it with coarse salt, pepper, and lemon zest. I wrap it in parchment paper and bake it in the oven until it's flaky.
11 Reply 589 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. I like it provided it's not overcooked and dry. I prefer Atlantic salmon. If you have fillets, brush them with some olive oil and thrown them right on the grill/BBQ - no foil, no cedar planks. Flip them after a couple of minutes and remove them when they're done. Watch not to overcook them. I like to rub them with a little butter after they are hot off the grill and then squeeze on some lemon juice. Simple and delicious.

+1 yPan seared or air fryer - nice and moist. Many, many different ways to prepare, from a garlic butter and Dijon brush to Macadamia or Pistachio topped in a light yogurt sauce. Difficult to find a fresh catch these days unless you're on the west coast of the USA, but I do prefer Atlantic salmon. They're plentiful in Norwegian waters as well. I hope to get there someday for lots of reasons.
10 Reply It's okay. As for cooking, either grilled, or in the oven in a foil packets with lots of seasoning and vegetables.
