Why do people stigmatize veganism so much?

Anonymous

About twice a month, the teenagers and young adults from my church get together and have brunch and hangout. We are on a schedule and rotate who prepares brunch.

We have a few vegans in our group and they’re often neglected. This time I made sure to cook something for them. While everyone else was having scrambled eggs, I suggested tofu scramble as the vegan option. The others in my group responsible for preparing brunch were freaking out about making something vegan, complaining about the consistency of the tofu and what ingredients are ok. It’s really not that hard, we can watch YouTube videos or buy a vegan cookbook to learn how to cook these things.

I wound up making the tofu scramble by myself. It was so good, even the meat eaters loved it and asked for some to-go. A lot of them said that they had never tasted vegan food that was so good.

I think the world would be a better place if we stopped stigmatizing things and just took the time to learn. I really don’t understand why things are so hard. It’s the almost the same food, just substitute the meat!
