Do you have free food in your hometown during holidays and fiesta/ or even storms?

In Philippines whenever there's storm after sgorm they would give us relief goods to all people who are ( in calamity only) and if Christmas or fiesta is coming if Christmas the Mayor or Governer would give free relief goods or box of spaghetti, canned goods, ham or 1whole chicken to every family in our town. Is that the same in your country? Like government give food or help people when holiday?

Here in Switzerland a traditional vegetable soup is served for free during celebrations of our national holiday on August 1. However, most people prefer sausages and fried chicken and those need to be paid. Same for the wine.

Fun fact: Swiss wine is so good that we drink practically all of it ourselves and only a mere 2% is exported.

Not really needed here. Our natural catastrophes are rare and most people have insurance. Of course during search and rescue there are foodtrucks and field kitchens, but that’s more for the active helpers.

We have food banks for people financially struggling but we don't get free food over holidays and we don't really get natural disasters here.

We luckily don't get storms in the UK. I think once we had a good community that helped, but money is tight now. I'm not sure anymore tbh.

They only hand out free food to the homeless, and if there’s a hurricane that hit real hard and you’re struggling
