Learned to cook a months into living on my own. I didn’t like the option of buying food daily and I missed the home cooking which, at that point, was thousands of miles away. I started with crock pots and stews and “set & forget” meals for the luxury of coming home to a hot meal. Then, little by little I started learning. The publications “America’s Test Kitchen” and “Cook’s” are THE go to resource for me. Far beyond recipes are technique’s & tools to learn. By the time I realized what a charmer it was to women when they found out you were a competent cook I was fully invested.
Now cooking is an absolute go-to hobby and pastime for me. A fantastic stress reliever and, who doesn’t love good, healthy, food? I plan to do more French cooking this coming year and maybe some Japanese. I’m fully confident in Italian, German, Greek, Tex-Mex, and Mexican. Been dabbling in Cuban lately since it’s so delicious and similar to Mexican food.
Lastly, I dislike fast food. Like I tell my kids - that’s not even food, it’s a good-like product. Steer clear of it. My work demands a high degree of health and operational readiness and a healthy diet is the foundation of that.
I can cook, I learned because it was a skill I wanted and a life skill everyone should know.
I learned by getting a job cooking and working my way up to chef. then changed professions. My favorite foods to cook are fish, pasta dishes and vegetable sauté. I also know how to bake and love making things like chocolate chip banana bread, various cookies, rum cake, baklava, etc

I can cook, it's just something I learned as I was growing up.
I can cook, yes...
not only I live by myself at the moment, so of course I cook for myself but it also a family/tradition thing... at least for here in the region I live it is very common than adult knows how to cook, at least the most basic things, lol
and I learned from everyone, but mostly my parents, aunts and uncles, grandma... but also from friends and ex-girlfriends and later in life... I'd look up for things online as well
having grown up in both the South of Texas and the North of Mexico... cooking our food as family and sharing it in big family gatherings is pretty much a must so, not only you'll learn your ways around the kitchen but also the grills and the pit fire
I can cook and started preparing full meals when I was a freshman in HS. My mother taught me some basics and I took it from there. She was a SAHM until I was in 8th grade. She could make ANY type of dish, bake any dessert, ground her own sausage, canned fruits and veggies, planted a big garden in our backyard. Could sew all kinds of clothing. She made all of my clothes until about second grade.
I can. My grandma and dad taught me how to cook
That looks delicious!
Sorry to say, I never learned to 'cook' per se.
Do you want to learn to cook? It's never too late to learn a new skill.
I learned as a kid.
My mom taught me, I cook so I don't starve to death, or have to go out all the time.
My pie crusts need work, I make great yeast breads, homemade cinnamon rolls, just basic dishes, I was never a fancy eater.
Yes, I cook every day including weekends. My go to dish is pasta with homemade tomato sauce and roasted broccolinni on the side.
My go to dish is chicken breast over beans with peppers
or roasted fish and green beans
I can a little. I have not poisoned anyone yet
My go to is leaving knowing that my girl is in good physical condition. Lose weight miss. Don't hate the messenger, your health is at stake, life span is shortening. Good luck. And, by the way, healthy food
Even skinny, healthy people have to eat food to survive... you don't survive on nothing but air now do you?
I love how so many of you hide behind some little fake icon and then proceed to judge the few of us brave enough to show you exactly what we look like.
Yeah, that's me in the profile pic. Yeah, I could use to lose a few pounds. Yeah, my hair is falling out. Yeah, I may not be the prettiest bitch on the block. But you know what I have that you don't?
I have the ability to be polite and not judge you for your weight, your height, or what you look like on the outside. I have the bravery and the courage to be myself in the face of people like you who only give a shit about what someone looks like on the outside. Well, I might not be pretty on the outside, but I am the nicest, sweetest, most caring, and devoted friend and person that you will find. I will fight for those people that I care about to the bitter end.
And who knows, you hiding behind your little fake profile icon could be 600 lbs for all we know because you don't have the guts to show us who you really are.
Geez. If you wanted to go on a date you could have asked miss. However, I decline. Have a good day. No wonder your so "awesome"
As if! Your first sentence told me all I need to know about you and you are definitely not worth my time.
