You wake up next to your partner and they ask you, "Good morning babe, you want something sweet or savory?"
What do you usually go for?
Honestly, I like them both but as I got older, I don't really care for anything sweet in the morning.

Honestly, I like them both but as I got older, I don't really care for anything sweet in the morning.

usually on the sweeter side... I've never really been the -eggs & bacon- type, lol... when I am in Mexico though... Tacos de Canasta, they're always a bless... haha
honey butter biscuits are also a top choice of mine
oh yeah, definitely lol... they can be considered breakfast as well, and very popular too, in some regions
red ones are always a good choice, but... have you ever heard of, or tried Veracruz-style tamales? the ones wrapped in green leaves... if not? I'll take you to a spot right now
yes, similar to these... but the Veracruz-style ones do it without the bones, no full chicken... just the shredded chicken or pulled pork... and all kinds of great flavors in them
absolutely, yes...
and yes... some of the best of those are ready just after noon... which is very soon, I'll just get the Aston
of course... that's the color I always get
So my answer will be something savory regarding breakfast food as eggs and bacon are kinda da bomb.
But tbh if my partner asks me that in bed when I wake up then food will be the last thing on my mind ;)
Then I’m eating!

My breakfast is mostly fluid, made of coffee and milk foam.
I mean I'm a simple creature: most mornings I just have a protein shake or protein bar, so... sweet I guess?
Occasionally I might cook something such as an omelet, or a taco breakfast bowl (egg, peppers and onions, potatoes, cheese, and ground turkey meat... served with salsa), overnight oats, and the classic- a bowl of cereal.
I like a cooked , carb free breakfast , eggs , tomato , mushroom , organic sausage , nothing processed , or very little , and certainly nothing with added sugar , I would eat this meal around 4 pm. Which is what breakfast actually is = Breaking the fast.
isn't organic sausage processed? like tofu?
@strateguy632 Yes , it is..
Any sausage or meat pattie is proceeded , I allow myself this one , on occasion , and sometimes one slice of decent cheese , but thats processed too. So I should have said " As close as I can get to absolute zero processed " , so thanks for the correction.
Often , I will delete all that and make it absolute Zero processed and Zero processed Carbs , carbs bit is easy.
Large stack of buttermilk pancakes with lots of syrup and butter, sausage links, grits and hash browns. Not much of an egg man. A cup of double the caffeine coffee and a glass of milk. The milk and pancakes swell up making me feel fuller.
I need the carbs and double the caffeine to get going on a Saturday morning.
☕️☕️
Oh yes. I was always fed a bowl of white rice with butter and sugar for breakfast when l was younger.
I think I'm lucky if I even get to eat breakfast. Normally I'll swing through Taco Bell on the way to work for one sausage egg cheese burrito and an orange juice. Can't forget to make a coffee at home beforehand, that's even more important than breakfast.
Breakfast is a luxury. Time crunch, procrastination, depression and other maladies make sure of it for me.
And as much as I like sweets, I think a savory breakfast would be healthier and more helpful energy wise. :)
I prefer my breakfast on the sweeter side but not too sweet - would prefer making my own oatmeals tho. Usually use ingredients that can be pulled to both sides: such as carrots, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom among some.
I love both..
LOL my maternal grandmother used to make the whole thing, stacks of pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon, pie, toast, orange juice, yogurt, scones.. we could never eat everything but is was awesome since she was an awesome cook, it is too bad my mom never learned cook from her before she died..
Ooh I really like both but I prefer a savory one overall.
Yeah I gotta have the eggs and sausage
Coffee... A lot of coffee.
Then, maybe at about 3 p. m., my stomach is awakened enough to digest the first meal.
But I don't like sweet things, so I start with lunch :D
high five!✋
I like French toast with strawberries and powdered sugar, and then put eggs and bacon on the side. So together 😋
I prefer savoury but I don’t usually have much time for breakfast so I’ll have cereal or an oat bar. I need to start meal prepping!
Savoury as in a cooked breakfast - beans, toast, hash browns, potato scones, bacon, sausages, haggis, tomato, etc. but I don’t like eggs unfortunately and couldn’t eat all that every day
Omelette with lots of STUFF and smothered in my “slow-burn” chili or my sausage bread and strong coffee.
Savory because it boosts my appetite. Something sweet is just like a treatment like dessert if you have finished a meal. That's why eating something sweet from meal just doesn't really fit.
*eating something sweet for a meal
I like to vary it from day to day, but it's usually more on the savory side.
I sometimes have breakfast for dinner. I like both. For breakfast I just have coffee. I make 40 Oz in my thermal cup and it lasts most of the day
Both. I love pancakes and waffles. But eggs and bacon or ham and sausage is good too. I recently had waffles that obviously had a ton of sugar added to the batter. It was too sweet
a little of both frankly. i love a good pastry (danish, donut, etc) but then feel like i need some protein
I have eaten breakfast maybe twice in the last 10 years.
Mostly savory. I could do a sweet one if it's not too sweet.
I want both I like sweet and savory together I like bacon and eggs with my pancakes
What about you?
Pancakes are my favourite but I use stevia or natural fruit sugar.
I skip breakfast on most days
Its a mood thing
Savory with a sweet chaser.
It takes all types to make a party.
I like both, but will go for savory over sweet
sweet one please
hehe thanks
Savory. The sweets r for desserts
A full English breakfast obviously 😋
The orange drink, poached eggs, stewed tomatoes and blood sausage…and dry English muffins did not leave a good impression.
The best thing they had was tea with milk. Spiced black tea with milk already mixed in. I could drink that all day but the breakfast the Brit’s served…no wonder you buggers are grumpy until it’s time to hit the pub.
Savoryyyy
