Well, it is originally an Italian word, and I know in Italian, word endings play a huge role in noun declension, so... yeah! However, what surprised me the most was that you guys actually follow that rule in Italian because in English zucchini, which is already in its plural form, considered singular😆😆.
I had no idea! Is it common to use a "i" suffix in Italian for plural forms of nouns?
Looked up the rules and it seems reasonably straightforward. Mozzarella to Mozzarelle, Amica to Amiche, Amico to Amici! That's cool! I want to learn Italian now.
Learned it about a year ago & I’m going to have to research pasta now.
I wonder what you call a single Linguine? I have some research to do.
Learning another language sounds like fun & that sounds like something to add to your bucket list.
It seems to me from the rules I'm looking at that 'a' replaces 'e' in plural forms, so the singular might be "Linguina".
Sorry, that is to say that 'e' replaces 'a'.
All this talk is making me hungry & hungry for knowledge too.
The hand gestures in Italian already seem quite intricate to learn. I have an Italian colleague from Rome and he makes so many gestures with his hands that it almost looks like sign language.

Some people talk with their hands as they say & I did notice some Italians talk that way as well. Thank you for sharing the video as well.
Cin cin! 🍻
Lol I just thought it was a Strand of spaghetti 🍝
like a strand of hair or something.
I always called it spaghetti regardless & about a year ago I learned about a single spaghetto. Some say you learn something new every day just like the little plastic or metal things on the end of your shoelaces are called aglets.
Of for sure, learning is great and finding the names and uses of every day things is cool as well.
For me, it must be some ocd or obsessive trait for this. I think everyone will enjoy this fact but for me the spaghetto feels unnatural. Even knowing it I couldn’t bring myself to call it that. Apologies, I couldn’t jump on board with it but thanks for the share! Fun read :]
I never cook one of them. I will ask a single one next time.

Learning is a wonderful thing, never stop learning.
A mind is a beautiful thing except when it goes or starts to go.
does it have a different name before and after is cooked?
I think it definitely does so enlighten me if you know that answer.
I wouldn't know... lmao
That's where the children's food "Spaghetti-os" came from.
Always amazes me how spaghetti is harvested...
https://www.youtube.com/embed/8scpGwbvxvINever really thought about it because who eats one spaghetti strand? That’s why I’m surprised there’s a name for it
Now you have me wondering… Who eats a single spaghetti strand? How about a chef?
A mouse maybe? , lol
Absolutely true & I would say a mouse too.
wrong one is also ti, plural is "ta" data.
i always test a spaghetto before i serve! thanks for this info
Read all the answers now to add to the confusion is it sauce or gravy. Formerly from Bath Beach Brooklyn LMFAO!
I did not know this.
Interesting!
Interesting it is & there are so many interesting things all around us. Some say you learn something new every day & I’m looking forward to what I learn tomorrow & so on.
👍🏻
🖖….
I didn’t know
Same here but as they say you learn something new everyday.
Yes I know
Outstanding Iron Man & did you know that recently or did you learn that a long time ago.
I learned that about a year ago but I seem to still call a single spaghetti strand spaghetti.
