What British dishes are your favorite?

For the most part, British food deserves its poor reputation. Having said that, British biscuits, cakes and puddings are undoubtedly the best in the world.
For those unacquainted with British biscuits, and seeking confirmation, there's an excellent resource here: http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/biscuits/previous.php3?item=1
chips.
Of the poll I think the hot pot is best but you've got to make it properly with slow cooked lamb in a nice gravy.
@purplepoppy no bangers and mash? For Shame 😞😁
Fish and chips. Never been to Britain but have that a lot here.
British cuisine offers some delightful treats. I have a particular fondness for the classic Yorkshire pudding, often served with a hearty Sunday roast. It's such a comforting and crispy delight. Also, fish and chips are iconic, especially when enjoyed by the seaside. Once in a charming coastal village, I had the most perfect fish and chips in a paper wrap that brought out the essence of the sea. The mushy peas were an interesting addition, adding a sweet and earthy flavor. British food always feels comforting and warm, with a touch of nostalgia. 😊

From the list, bangers and mash, but shepherd’s pie isn’t far behind.
You didn’t list bread pudding, which is probably my favorite food of British origin.
Fish and Chips, but the Fish, be it Cod or Haddock must be freshly caught.
Tattie pot, made with Mutton not lamb, and fresh Black Pudding, with pickled Red Cabbage.
