I doubt it. Doordash doesn’t pay its human drivers enough for vehicle maintenance. But since the robot is theirs, they will be taking good care of Mr. robot.

On average, it cost $.60 per mile to operate a vehicle. If DoorDash send you on a 4 mile delivery, they will pay you two dollars. As you can see, that’s less than it costs you to maintain the vehicle. 🚗 The drivers rely 100% on tips. I’ve heard people on TV say that they shouldn’t have to tip if they don’t want to. Great, don’t tip. And no one will deliver to you. Without the tip, you would not only be losing money on the vehicle expenses, you would be making zero income.

That's up to the driver. If he isn't making enough, he should find another job. The customer isn't his employer so it's not the customers job to retain employees. If everyone stopped tipping we would find out if the service is valuable enough for employers to pay the drivers more and still make a profit. If not, then there is not enough demand for the service and it will not be offered anymore. But the onus is not on the customer it's on the driver and the employer.
