But what's your favourite dried fruit?

I use dried and smoked plums for some dishes. Sauce made of duck fat is a typical example for dried plums. Otherwise I use raisins for cheesecake. My brother described raisins as he was younger "cheesecake with flies". He eats 80% of my cheesecake production so I think "flies" is a must have.
Otherwise I don't use other dried fruits. They are spongy or have consistence of hard toffee bonbons.
Your brother would like British fly cakes. Basically raisins piled between 2 layers of short pastry
Dried fruits have lot of sugar. I like them also. Apples. Raisins. But they are so expensive. I usually eat fresh fruits. Guess that is healthier. And local fruits seasoned.
I like white figs the best. Dried apricots are wonderful as are many other things in that category of food items.
Dried banana chips I often get and they are just okay though, they just look better than they are. Now dried apple slices are the opposite, they are better to eat than look at but still not great.
So some white figs, cracker and cheese with a few grapes makes a nice snack.
Pitted plums
Apricots
Pineapple slices
Dried mango is my absolute favorite. It always brings me back to a street market in Bangkok where I first tried it. The balance of sweet and tangy flavors is irresistibly refreshing. Wrapped in the sun's warmth, each bite feels like a tropical getaway. 🍍 Similar to how chocolate complements certain flavors, dried mango pairs wonderfully with nuts, elevating the dining experience. Although dried apricots are a close second with their rich, slightly tart taste, mango's tropical allure brings back those vibrant memories.

Dried banana chips are not too bad...
For me, sultans + raisins, dried apricot like you @purplepoppy -- and dried apple AND dried mango (working + living in Bangkok as I do nowadays it's easy to find)
Dates by a small margin over figs. If i have one, i probably have both. Dried dates are like nature’s candy, very sweet and chewy.
No
And , Sultana's are why I hate the taste (not the groovy look) of Christmas puddings ; they're what ruins it lol 😆
🎄🎄🎋
I love the look of Christmas Puddings however + that contrast of white snow mountain 🏔️ on black base mmmm 😋 brown base mmm 🟤 🤍 no euphemisms
I like dried apples cause they taste sweeter than regular apples. I don't know if it is naturally sweet or if they add sugar to it.
Yes, i have been eating apricots lately. They are expensive but they are good for you.
