What is the cheapest meal you have ever made or had the pleasure of eating?

We made vegetable stew after Thanksgiving. Which is where you take all the leftovers (vegetables within reason) put it in a pot together with tomatoe soup and call it a meal. A friend of mine thought I ruined all the leftover... it is more like all good things at once for me. My friend says my vegetable soup reminds him of homeless camp. Im about to enjoy it for days. So what is a "cheap" meal you very much enjoy?

In China in a „workers‘ kitchen“ I paid under 4$ or so for a full chicken with rice and tea meal. It was okay, but we got way better food for not too much more elsewhere.

Pasta with butter, oil and fresh garden herbs is a cheap meal. So is steamed carrots, onions, green beans over rice.

How do you figure? I think enjoying what we eat is part of what make life so great. Like when you give a baby a orange or a lemon to try for the first time... thats not a chore its pleasure. Even if the kid doesn't like the lemon you can enjoy watching. its pleasure 😉

Cheapest meal I ever made was omelette bread (bread is dipped into a seasoned omelette-style egg mixture and then pan-fried). Also, vegetable Maggi noodles. It's not exactly healthy but hey, adding vegetables made it at least super yummy, lol. I would have these once in a while- when I lived in a pg home and didn't know how to cook. Didn't even have time to cook. 😅

The cheapest meal I bought was street food like samosas and pav... Also, idli & wada with sambar. They barely cost O.55 dollars (less than 50 rupees here).
