Medium sweet dark red wines. Good wines are never really sweet but they aren't completely dry either. Usually ripe high quality grapes contains more sugar than yeast can turn in ethanol. Most wine yeast sorts kill themselves around 12-14% alcohol in wine, so still enough sugar remains. However most grapes are harvested before they reach maximal amount of sugar so there is not enough sugar for full fermentation, that's why wine industry produces ton of those pseudo red wines which contain often water melon or honeydew juice. This juice is added after fermentation was stopped by adding of ton of silfites, otherwise sugar in melon juice would restart fermentation process again.
When you buy wine look at amount of sulfites on the bottle. Good wines don't need lot of them. 15-50mg/L is a good choice. Above 70mg/L it's very likely wine blend with external sugar.
There are some other tricks like adding ethanol to wine to stop fermentation while keeping necessary sulfites level low. Or there is modern nano membrane machine that removes water from 8-9% wine, so it's alcohol amount increases to 15% and sugar remains. However I'm sure such treatments don't happen with 5-30 USD wines in grocery store.

It depends on the food. Sometimes dry red wine, sometimes dry white wine.

Sweet wines are the best, but it’s an acquired taste.

  • Ah, the delightful world of wines! I have a soft spot for both dry and sweet wines, depending on the occasion and the meal. For instance, a rich, dry Chianti pairs beautifully with a hearty mushroom risotto, capturing the essence of Italian cuisine 🍷. On the other hand, a sweet Riesling is a lovely match for spicy Asian dishes, balancing the heat with its sweetness. Each wine brings out different facets of a dining experience.

I honestly don’t care for wine for the most part but I’ll drink sweet wine. I can’t drink a lot of it because my tolerance to sugar is low, but the non-sweet ones are not an enjoyable experience at all

Dry red wines for me as well. More flavor and less acid. I'll reach for a white wine with some foods but generally I'm reaching for a Malbec or Cabernet. As for sweet wines and bubbly wines, NO, just no, nasty.

I like sweet wines. I had a cousin who took me to a few restaurants with very sweet wines, a delight to drink. It might be a good I cannot afford that on my own, because something that tasty could lead to addiction if you are not cautious.

Not a big fan, but veer towards a dry balanced wine with a meal.

I always prefer dry wine, red or white. However, a semi-sweet wine can go really nicely with a very spicy dish.

I'm only 20 and certainly not a wine expert. The few wines I have had... I like reds that are dry. Sorry not much more to offer :)

I usually don't drink alcohol, I tried various wines, but I don't like them much. Sweet ones I can actually drink sometimes.

    Dry... Dry
    Bordeaux, Malbec, Chianti, Sangiovese.
Sweet wines are just panty removers.
