Are sliced hot dogs actually a good pizza topping or just wrong?

I am not a big hotdog fan, so that is a no for me. I suppose it isn't that much different than putting other meats on like ham. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Most hot dogs are gross to start out, so putting them on a perfectly good pizza is a great way to ruin that pizza.

Whatever floats your boat. ham and pineapple, hotdogs, and a friend of mine, years ago, loved liverwurst on his pizza put on the pizza at home because most pizza shops don't carry liverwurst, which smells horrible when heated. Ugh!

Pizza has certain unwritten etiquette about it, such as not putting liverwurst on it, or SPAM, or hot dogs. It's the equivalent of putting ketchup on your dry aged rib-eye or Kobe beef. You are perfectly free to defame the Art of Pizza, but you asked if putting hot dogs on pizza is good or just wrong; it's wrong. It's very wrong.

I'm a pizza eating aficionado, from San Francisco to Chicago to the streets of Brooklyn and Queens to Naples, Italy to Sicily and back. If your friend requested such toppings from real pizza joints, he'd be unceremoniously removed from the premises. In Sicily, he may never be heard from again, who knows? LOL

People put ketchup on hot dogs and would defile Wagyu beef, both national treasures. I would help remove them from the pizza shop for desecration of national treasures. LMFAO!

We appropriated both as we did with pizza. The amount that we eat of these items should be a National treasure, because half of the kids in this country survive on pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, and French fries, we most probably eat more of those items than the next three countries combined

Sliced hot dogs on pizza aren’t wrong, just very specific 😄

They give a salty, smoky, slightly bouncy bite, a bit like a cheap cousin of sausage. I tried it on a late-night slice in Berlin with mustard and onions and it felt like a fusion between pizza and a street hot dog.

On a simple Margherita, I’d say no. On a fun, loaded, “junk food” style pizza, it can work.
