Women need to stop touching people so much if they are not romantically interested in them!!!

It happens to me all the time, at work, in school, when Im out with female friends. It drives me insane when women touch me out side of a flirtatious setting. It is really distracting. I don't know what to do about it. I don't know how to get them to stop!! There is no reason two friends have to be touching eachother so much. Me and my guy friends never really touch eachother except for hand shakes and we get a long just fine.

Any advice on this please let me know!

I follow what you are saying. It annoys me especially for example a girl takes her clothes off in the bedroom and lays down next to you, and your getting into the mood and she goes uh uh uh. It's like she is teasing you. Dangling a carrot over a donkey's head, trying to see if she still got it. I don't have time for mind games like this.

It's your responsibility to be assertive and clearly express your personal boundaries, you can't expect them to mind-read. Tell them not to do it.

Physical boundaries are implied. It's inappropriate to touch people without asking them if you aren't in a relationship. The responsibility is on the person that wants to invade the personal space of others not the one who is being touched.

@Octavius No, that's your assumption, that it's "common-sense". You seem to like acting like a victim. If you don't like how someone treats you, then be assertive and tell them why. Don't complain about their behaviour, you're the one allowing them to treat you that way.

I don't. I let them know. I'm not a victim and this isn't necessarily a gender thing either. It's wrong to do that and if you're going around touching people they don't have to say anything they could just call the cops and charge you with assault because they can and it would be the truth. Don't touch people just cause you feel like it.

@Octavius Touching is not assault (again with the victim thing). It may be "wrong" because that's your perception of it, not everyone holds hat same belief. Some people think they are showing affection, or maybe it's impulsive. If you have expressed your personal boundaries, and they continue, then don't put yourself in a position that they are able to.

The laws in your country may be different but any touching if not warranted (as in not given permission) IS assault.

@snowangle I see what you mean that I should be assertive but you must admit that there is some social risk to this. The women will certainly feel embarrassed and alienated. Maybe taking her aside in private to do this, what do you think? Either way it will be really awkward but I guess that would be the best way to do it for both parties...

It is an assumption that a man may not touch a woman without permission. But women seem to feel it's fine to touch a man.
There was a time when I refused to be touched by ANYONE for any reason. Even family. When I did exert the kind of direct "please do not touch me" that you are speaking about I was the bad guy, or creepy. My reason I had just been violently raped, I didn't need to tell people that none of their business.

The assumption should be don't touch someone unless you want to interact with them on a personal level (not talking about a handshake). So in certain settings it is absolutely a no no. This should absolutely apply to men and women equally.

It doesn't bother me. Except the time I was eating in a restaurant and an elderly woman at an adjoining table kept touching my arm while talking to me. And that was just because she was eating ribs and had barbecue sauce all over her hands.
