To Text or not to text: that is the QUESTION...


PRIMO: Is the other person a textie?


Not everyone likes that mode of communication, especially if you're trying to interest them romantically..ASK thee before you send texts that may not be read, or that will likely be seen as an irritant, even if YOU think they are so charming.



SECONDO: De l'audace! Don't be boring and predictable. All is fair;there are no rules to abide by, such as the urban legend that the guy has to text first.


It's a new medium,so leave the old 'rules' behind!



TERZO:


If he/ she does not reply, don't mope around long. After a day or two, ESCALATE (unless, of course, you find out he/she is already in a relationship, or discover some other noxious circumstance).



SEND him/her an invitation, something that REQUIRES a reply. Clearly if they don't respond, hey, go commiserate with a friend, or make a voodoo doll with their picture and send a photo of it to him/her as a final message.



Just not polite not to answer you! At least with a kiss-off response. Never waste time on someone non-responsive in most cases.



QUARTO: Less is better, don't pressure the other person with sweet messages Gauge your text volume to match theirs, and don't ask them for important decisions by text...don't ask 'what are we' type questions electronically



QUINTO: If they seem negative AT ALL, stop communicating and leave it up to them to initiate the next contact. Maybe they are involved with important business, and they will appreciate your restraint.


And if they are trying to hint they aren't interested, they will ALSO appreciate that you can take a hint,


SEXTO:


NO relationship can develop far just by texting, so take it to the street, face-to-face, as soon as your. Intended can be persuaded. Again, gently lead them to that step, so that you don't wear out your thumbs in vain, if it turns out they won't meet you in real time.


SEPTIMO: Keep messages short and brisk. Be realistic; don't declare your undying love in a text. If they pose 'deep' questions, go immediately bak to step six: time to engage them where you can read their eyes and hear their tone of voice!!



Good luck; keep your cool, don't overthink texts, either yours or others'.
