You can't just write a MyTake, bury your head in the sand and expect people to believe such a thing as an "airhead" doesn't exist.
They do. There are people out there who are really, really thick, and I've met plenty.

Lol :) My goal isn't necessarily to change people's opinions. I'm just saying that words really hurt & leave a lasting impression. I just think that if people don't have nice things to say they shouldn't say anything at all... or they should at least have the decency to keep their thoughts to themselves :P :)
Live a little before making such comments. I know people who lack education but are still sensible people. I also know people who go through life in a daze. Airheads absolutely exist.
my sister is an airhead. she's 22 and asked me why water doesn't fall off the earth on the upside down part. she also asked if barack obama was the president of the world
i know that airheads do exist as i've met and know some. maybe go out in the real world. was this really bothering you so much that you felt compelled to write a take about it?
Does she have street smarts or people smarts? Is she a really good communicator? :) I just think people can be intelligent in different ways as I mentioned earlier :)
I agree. Grades doesn't define intelligence and age doesn't define maturity.

If you met my friend Michaela, you would know that this isn't true.

She probably has redeeming qualities otherwise you wouldn't be her friend though, right? Everyone has something special/unique to offer to the world, so I just don't like the term airhead :) What's your favorite thing about her?
The creator of this topic is IN FACT! An air head.

I shouldn't even dignify this with a response but here goes... I have a 85% average in college, taking 7 classes right at the moment & people always comment about how insightful I am. Keep your mean comments to yourself please & thank you :) Why would you even assume that?
Because you're a reflection/extension of all the people in my life who have said negative things like that to me & for once I'm standing up for myself. People like you are the reason why I spent the majority of my life trying to prove them wrong. Words leave lasting impressions and people need to stop judging people they haven't even spoken to. You have no evidence to support your claim that I'm an airhead so until you do... :P
You make it seem like you're speaking to an audience of people. To the best of my knowledge I'm the only one you're talking to... and I'm not much enjoying this interaction to be honest. You make it seem like I'm beneath your superior intelligence. Stop being so rude and condescending
My dear, you are NOT a reflection / extension of all people in your life. You said that you are studying psych? Number 1 rule- you can't control the actions of others ( only they can control their own actions) YOU can only control how these actions affect you. Your achievements/ accomplishments, are an extension of self. Love to chat more, but lunch is calling
I see what you're saying but it's not necessarily entirely true. People take mental shortcuts when assessing people because stereotypes help us categorize things in our minds & make snap judgements about them. In addition, some people make decisions based on priming (things they've been previously exposed to). So people assume someone is an airhead based on one single thing they seen, but it still shouldn't dictate their final judgement about the person. I agree with what you said but he was being disrespectful & hit a hot button because I'm sick if hearing that I'm supposedLy stupid. Thanks for your input :)
To decide which words to include in the dictionary and to determine what they mean, Merriam-Webster editors study the language as it's used. They carefully monitor which words people use most often and how they use them.
Each day most Merriam-Webster editors devote an hour or two to reading a cross section of published material, including books, newspapers, magazines, and electronic publications; in our office this activity is called "reading and marking." The editors scour the texts in search of new words, new usages of existing words, variant spellings, and inflected forms–in short, anything that might help in deciding if a word belongs in the dictionary, understanding what it means, and determining typical usage. Any word of interest is marked, along with surrounding context that offers insight into its form and use.

I agree totally - Everyone is smart in their own way.

you obviously don't get out enough cause there are a lot of stupid people that have almost little to offer intellectually
also, what @ClassicRocker put

I once met a guy who spent all his money on instant lottery tickets. Now you tell me he's not an airhead.
We have a future millionaire on our hands :P

lol im blonde and i notice this in my culture. Blonde chicks are often super slow:P
nah there are people who are airheads.
Believe me, they exist and they are so fucking stupid you will wish you could screen IQ and make aborting them mandatory.
Lol :) Example please? What do airheads do?
Ask what airheads do and pretend they don't exist.
You're just being ridiculous. Airheads don't exist so therefore I guess I don't exist :P What a shame...
Some people might be falsely labelled airheads, but they do exist.
No some people are just stupid. Just because you aren't book smart doesn't mean you are caring and down to earth.
Yeah, they do! They're a delicious, fruit-flavored candy that is difficult to chew, but rewarding, in the end!😆
I work with an airhead. She's a sweetheart but she is most definitely an airhead.
Yeah, but I bet even she has redeeming qualities :) Wouldn't you agree?
But that doesn't stop her from being an airhead. You can be a completely awesome person but still be an airhead.
Does she have street smarts or people smarts? Is she a really good communicator? :) I just think people can be intelligent in different ways as I mentioned earlier :)
Airheads do exist. There are many flaky stupid oblivious people.
I agree. Grades doesn't define intelligence and age doesn't define maturity.

I have known a good number of airheads. I worked at mcdonalds with one.
But airheads do exist. Some people are just dumb... Not everyone is intelligent. I'm not even referring to mentally ill people.

Why'd you take the comment to heart then? If you are really as fantastic as you say you are you wouldn't need to prove yourself...

She's all shaken up like a chihuahua in the cold rain with my powerful statement. 😏... just sayen.
