Guys hate getting led on as much as girls do. If we're being creepy, you don't feel any chemistry, or you're not taken by us, just let us know. Don't be disingenuous. You don't have to tell us how to pick you up or anything. Just that little bit of honesty is fine. Just be mature, muster up the courage and overcome how immensely awkward it will be. It will show strength of character and as a women. We don't need to call/text/IM/email/FaceTime/snapchat you knowing that nothing more's gonna happen or contemplate in wondering about what we did wrong.

If we're "stalking" you, that's only because we're clinging to the hope of perseverance being the key to anything and the old saying "real men never give up." Expecting us to "get the hint" when blowing us off by making up excuse after excuse not to see us like you're as "busy" as the director of the CIA is just nothing short of high school. In this day and age we can take "no" for an answer. Otherwise we'll just think there will be indeed another time.

Don't lie to us and get our hopes up like a dad going out to buy a pack of cigarettes! Girls it's up to you! If you don't want us harass you, JUST LEVEL WITH US! If the guy isn't your type, just tell him he's not your type. If the guy's being a creeper, tell him politely "Hey, don't take this personally, but you're being a little bit creepy." If you're not feeling it, just pull the classic "Hey, you're a great guy and all, but I'm just not feeling it." If you're not attracted to him, just tell him that you're not attracted to him. If you're not taken by what we say or do, let us know that you're not. If you don't want us to harass your phone, just tell us that you'd rather not pursue anything with us and shouldn't pursue you.

Girls, have courage, decency and integrity! If you really don't want to see us, just be straight and true!

When it comes to my experiences, I have been guilty of that. I'd give a guy my number just to get him out of my face, and then dread the times after that where I'll have to deal with his calls or avoid going out with him with excuses.

The reason why many women may string men along is becuase we fear a big confrontation breaking out. You know, like the whole 'you're a bitch then', or interrogating you as to why you won't give in.

Finally, I did muster the courage to just flat out say no or that my number is private, etc. But as another person said, there are not very many guys that like the word 'No'. They will insist, and question why you're not interested or why can't I do this or that, and it really gets frustrating.

So, I don't agree that you should waste a man's time, but I also totally disagree that a man should be hounding a woman until she says yes.

You know what's really irritating? I have told the same guy "No" more than once. He would not stop trying to pick me up. Finally, it reached the point where I had to embarrass him in public in order for him to stop. I believe in being honest, but what do you do when they just won't take no for an answer?

P. s. I have also been cornered by a guy outside the grocery store. Even when I vehemently explained why I wouldn't go out with him, he would not let me leave. He finally let me go when I threatened to call the police

I'd say you did the right thing in threatening to call the cops. When you told him "No" outright and the reasons why you wouldn't date him, continuing to try and pursue you was his own fault. Sometimes guys really are irredeemable creepers from straight out of a National Lampoon movie. For that, you have my sympathy.

I agree with you up until the part regarding stalking. That I do not concur with, but you are right, girls should be more straight forward with guys when they know there's no possibility of anything serious, but if you think about it, girls are not the only ones who do this. Guys can be worse and go around playing with girls' feelings too. Maybe it's our human way of not wanting to close a door that we may later on want to go through.

You have to remember that while *you* may be an adult about the truth, there are plenty of guys out there that won't be. Because of that, some girls end up assuming the worst about the guy's reaction to protect themselves. As a result there a lot of poor guys out there that are just looking for the truth so they can move on, and might not get it.
