  Not really, guys get along quite well :). Maybe it's because competition os different for guys. A guy is competing against every other guy pretty much. The girl he's into could be approached by any guy and she could chose any guy over him. So there's not really a direct competition between guys (or rarely). It's more like guys try to work on themselves be more attractive so they have a better chance. Usually if a guy gets a girl his friends will be hapy for him and applaud him. There won't be any secret hate or backstabbing or whatever.
  
  But with women it's different if she's into a guy he's not gonna get hit on by random women. So only the ones that are close to him and that he might be interested in are the competition. So that's why women hate any other girls that are around the guy that they're into because he might like them more.
