It's a defense mechanism. We're also told men love bitchy women, that they turn them on. There's no reason to act like that unless a particular guy won't leave you alone or you're a runway model.

We call woman snobs, men douches. Literally the same thing just with different terminology. Both genders can be snobs/douches, I feel like it is a way of acting out in a fit of anger, stress, or just strong emotions.
When someone uses “females” and “men” in the same sentence you know they are deeply misogynistic. Never fails to be the dead giveaway.

I'm not snobby. But I'm extremely shy and it seems that gives the illusion of me being a snob.
Hell no. Because of that, people ignore me.
So - THEY are the snobs. It's a daily occurrence. As a result I am extremely lonely.
Shyness can make a person seem snobby, yes. That is true. And it is hard to shake that image if you're a very shy person.
I'm really very friendly and would love to be able to get along.
But I've been teased, criticized, berated and controlled all my life. I've come to expect rejection. And it happens. Yes I am shy.
I've had a lot of the same things happen to me throughout my own life, but I'm a genuinely outgoing person. What I will say I've learned to do is not be outgoing with EVERYbody. I observe people first and can pretty much figure out what kind of person they are, and then I decide if I will be friendly with them or not.
I always thought they were just having a bad day.
But when I do find one that snubs me, they get shitted on in the long run.
Why do men still put up with this shit in the 21st century?
