Thanks for the props, and I agree with you about the super-coward thing. ANy argument a person might have is, for me, negated by the fact that he/she won't put his/her name on it. I already know everything I need to know about that person and his/her belief. I already know that this is a person who has the desire to be noticed but also can not face any scrutiny. And... gross. It's gross. It's childish and I think it's indicative of a much larger problem. Sort of a Lord of The Flies thing, kinda.
I had no idea this would be featured. I wrote it some time ago, I didn't know GaG picked stuff. I thought it had to be submitted. Anyway, I get why a person might want to preempt some harassment. That's legit, I feel. But blocking just to block is stupid. If you can't handle people disagreeing with you, then why post at all?
Ok, I love you for that phrase/reference alone, but I should also mention that this article was AWESOME! I disagree with the blocking part, as I like to pre-emptively prevent people from messaging me if they have harassed me before or spouted hateful opinions (or maybe like to troll and down-vote my answers). I remember when the blogger girlwriteswhat wrote here anonymously then blocked me and did that "she can't defend herself" crap. It was so weird and unfair.
It's not like it costs extra to prevent being blocked by clicking anonymous, and as you alluded to, it's not like not being "anonymous" isn't anonymous because it's just a screen name. What this boils down to for me is that I would rather not give someone the satisfaction of blocking me. It's not a big concern for me, just a meaningless gesture that takes no effort, while perhaps somewhere some anonymous blocking idiot will get annoyed. I can't fit my thoughts on internet anonymity as a whole.
that is true but at the same time is not fair as you are confusing the people you are debating with when you hide your identity.
and on the other hand (no offense), but don't you think that would kinda make you look like a coward? you know not standing up with what you believe in under your own identity just because people might think "ohh is that crazy moaterboat again!"
but because they can still post on my activities after they had blocked me, they would take full advantage of it and continue to stalk me around as I would be defenseless towards them having me block. so then that leads me to no choice but to block them back.
but the thing is that they also take advantage of the Anonymous feature before actually blocking you so therefore you won't have the chance to block them.
you know in some social sites when you block a person they are also blocking you in the process because when you block them not only can they not post on your activities but you can't post on theirs also. which in this site is not like that and from my experience I dealt with some cowards that took full advantage of that as once they disagree with me they would stalk me around and flame on my activities. then after I would reply and point out how much of a fool they are they would block me.
oh I forgot to add that this makes me wonder why those people who attack me here under anonymous; that why won't they "put their names" on their attacks also? I mean am I that intimidating to them? or are they simply to scared to take pride and express their reasons in their attacks. and I know how you feel about the blocking part. yes I been there before also. I think this site should really focus on their blocking configuration a little better...
"So unless someone is forever messaging me with ..., I will not do any blocking."
Many may block you because you're Republican if they're Democrats/leftists; because you're Christian, if they're atheist/Muslim or a similar difference of opinion here. They just can't stand contradiction. That's a problem on this site. There should be a way for them to avoid seeing posts or questions they don't like, without blocking the one who wrote them.
er.. it's the internet. I doubt anybody really cares either way.
also, you must be quite naive. people can cite any opinions they choose, and for any reason. it may just be that in your neighbourhood people are overly polite or value social graces. do you always presume that all people must share their thoughts and beliefs? who are you to suggest they must tell them to you?
Internet security should be in the front of everyone's mind. If I have a chance I prefer to stay anonymous. When I am using internet I often use a VPN to protect the information and identity. Usually it's Hola, I found it on . PS it's free.
This guy friended me on here just to send me a message wherein he called me a whore. And then HE blocked ME. So not only is vocabulary severely limited, but also he's a douche bag. Hence my reaction- in case anyone is wondering.
also I thought those links would be posted like links usually are, so that they're click-able... I must have done it wrong. But if anyone cares to see them, I'll repost them more neatly-er so they can be gotten to easier.
and you're a sorry little peckerless whiny piece of sh!t who couldn't get laid in a WHORE house. And what? What now, pu$$y? Come get some, you little sh!tstain.
Woah, woah, why are you saying all of those things? You should probably be more mature and ignore and block anyone who's being a jerk, but calling them names is really immature.
@martyfellow- I never once even considered the points thing. It explains SO much, though! Thanks for pointing that out. (This is not sarcasm. I forget all about that points sh*t.)
But that being said, I understand why you take that particular stance on the blocking and I respect it 100%. I just can't be bothered by people who attack my sex and ethnicity...

true actions of a super-coward if you ask me

Not everyone is strong like you. Most people are weak and follow the herd.
Plus you're a girl. Girls here don't get as much hate as guys do. You should make a new account and have the color blue to see how it feels

i agree I do not understand why so many women post anon on sexual forums, and stuff like that
amen to this
Hannah, that's understandable- I wrote about that, too. I take exception to people who throw sucker punches, that's all.
what annoys the heck out of me is when people post the nicest things anonymously. if it's good, why hide?
