How do women compliment men? Why dont they compliment more?

After I got a haircut, a coworker said, "Oh you got a haircut." and I said, "yep..." and then another male coworker said, "So you're getting all the compliments today."

No, that was not a compliment. Making an observation is not a compliment. "I like your haircut" or "That haircut is a good look for you." Those are compliments. But women dont seem to compliment as directly or as often as men do. Why? How can we get women to be more open with compliments and more flattering?

I find it's much easier to compliment a girl than a boy because there are more things to say look good. Like to a girl you could say you like her earrings, heels, outfit, make-up, hair-style, purse, the list goes on. With guys, it's mostly sunglasses, outfit, hair-cut, cologne. I am trying to compliment my boyfriend more, even on things he doesn't really regularly change like if I notice his arms or legs are looking good, I'll let him know haha. Likewise when we're chatting I'll mention that he's really smart, passionate about many things, and other traits that I respect in him.

Any suggestions on more things we could compliment men on?

Things that make him feel manly. Compliment his handsomeness or his facial hair. Tell him he's sexy, tell him he's beautiful. Men like those compliments too. Or his muscles. His eyes. His dick, and especially how he makes you feel in bed. Tell him he's a good kisser. Tell him he's better than other guys. His smile. Make him feel strong

haha okay, I'll try a few of those out tonight. Regarding complimenting him in bed, do I do that despite the fact that I'm definitely moaning louder and breathing faster? I always thought that would suffice but I guess there's no such thing as being praised too much! :P

tell him what you like while in bed, and when to do it more or harder. Give him direction but dont come off demanding and let him know what he's doing right. Like I said make him feel manly

I do compliment guys that I know, but it's hard to know what to say or how to compliment them without it seeming like I'm outright flirting with them. There's such a fine line between a compliment being innocent and friendly and then being flirty.

Sometimes I don't even know what to compliment my SO on, honestly. I feel like I'm always complimenting him on the same things :(

Whats SO? Well there's only so many things. Compliment what you notice and what you like. Think about it, is there a compliment most women haven't heard before? Not likely

I might tell them they are handsome, smell nice, are a great person, etc. I don't know why some people don't compliment their significant other, maybe they just don't think of it.

Sometimes I tell the males I work with that they are smart & great at their job. I tell my brother in law that he's a great cook, & my other brother in law that he's great with dogs.

Beats me, I think it's kinda rude to get complimented all the time (girls) and then not ever give a compliment. Selfish!

Yeah that does seem kinda true. Guys compliment girls they might not be interested in all the time. Like I tell older women they have nice hair or a dress. But I have no interest in banging that, but I just want to be nice because I know they're way past their "glory" days. Girls crush on guys all the time with their friends though.

I think it's because some girls don't know how the guy would react to the compliment. They don't want to come off as "thirsty" or "wanting the d" so harsh. I compliment my guy friends all the time. I compliment their personality and their clothes and even their haircut. Some girls are shy, some don't want the guy to have the wrong idea and some might not even think about giving a compliment.

Traditionally it's seen as a man's role to give a woman compliments, many women are shy about giving compliments to men that they are not dating. Some women also find it difficult to accept compliments from men, so therefore they find it even harder to compliment men.

Because we don't want to say the wrong thing. Her saying you got a haircut was her telling you she notices little things like that. We are subtle, not that we don't compliment you just can't tell.

Well if I can't tell its a compliment than its not a compliment at all. Because whats the purpose of giving a compliment? If it doesn't fulfill its purpose than its just an empty observation

If I don't know the guy, I compliment him simply by eye contact and a little smile on my face lol
but if the guy is someone I know, I usually compliment him right away (if I find anything worth complimented)

I call my boyfriend handsome and lovely all the time, I often tell him how clever, intelligent and wonderful he is.
