Why do women talk so fast and so much?

A conversation with a woman is physically draining for me... I get lost in the convoluted maze of female speech. Anecdotes which have no relation to the question I ask, unsolicited judgement and advice on my appearance or social life, juvenile remarks about my personal life when I disagree with their opinions. And the women I know speak so fast that I can barely hear them forming coherent sentences. Why can't women go a little easy on us males and speak a little slower and a little more concisely?

Not all women are like that haha, that particular woman is and I don't know why she is like that, there are always reasons behind people's actions, but i don't know her so i can analyse why she acts like that. You can't change her, she's the only one who can change herself so just be patient and if she bores you then interrupt her, talk faster than her, change the topics fast. At least that's how i deal with that kind of women

That's one of the biggest blanket statements I've ever heard. And considering how many other blanket statements people have made on here, that's saying a lot.

I agree with the first answerer---you must live in a very tiny town surrounded by female energy drink addicts. Get out while you can man.

generalisations exist for a reason. Women do communicate in a different way from blokes... I've never had the same problem with guy friends... not even with the motor-mouth pricks... If the structure of the question 'offends' you, let me rephrase it...

I'm not offended by the question in any way, I was simply stating a fact when I mentioned how big of a blanket statement this question is.

Could you try to explain better what you mean when you say that women talk so much faster and more complex than men? Maybe some examples or whatever? I could likely give a more detailed response if you give me more details.

A very petty example would be the the hour long rhetoric I received in response to something as banal as "This restaurant has good food." or "would you recommend that I watch this film?"
A more annoying example would be the gestapo interrogation I was subjected to for not ringing my ex up for mere 3 days...

Oh, I understand what you're saying better now. Women in general overthink things and are detailed. Whereas men in general are more straightforward and to the point. That results in different communication styles.

As for your ex turning into a criminal interrogator after not being contacted for a few days, it does seem that women in general care more about regular communication than men. I honestly can't give you an answer for that because I personally am not like that at all, I can go for months without speaking to a person (even people I care about).

I know that women don't necessarily fall into the same personality type... But I was just getting confused with this particular type of women... I know, that I may come off as extremely chauvinistic but thank you for hearing me out and not jumping to conclusions... Cheers and enjoy

Actually studies show that women don't talk more than men. As far as how fast they talk well I don't know. Not all women do that for sure, and in many cases it's something they can't help. Really just people in general and not so much women.

Because we have a lot on our minds being held in and bottled up. So when we FINALLY let it all out, it's a lot. And in order for us to let it ALL out within 30 mins or less, we have to speak fast.

I only wish I could, my mother and aunts show up all the time... avoiding them is almost impossible. Both of my ex girlfriends were this way... If not all women are like that, mayhaps I'm attracting the wrong sort of women
