I think this is a biological reaction. I once read a study about this, but in a nut shell; For best offspring survival females choose the most virile males. This social pattern can be seen through out history. In one of the most common forms this can be seen in fashion. Ex: In the 1500's large muscular calves were a symbol of masculinity and so men wore trousers and stocking to show off their calves. King Henry VII wore such pants that restricted circulation causing him to have a festering abscess that eventually cost him his life just so he could appear to be a virile male.
In my personal opinion I think that the reaction (most) females have to a deep male voice is natural if not biological. You are lucky, I know many women who get hott and bothered just over hearing a deep timbre in a mans voice.
To answer your question more specifically. What attracts me to it is the association of a deep voice with masculinity. What I like most is the rumble, especially with my ear pressed to his chest. A good deep male voice could recite the dictionary all day and I would be as pleased as a kitten with cream.
deep voices are nice... but so are regular ones... i mean, it all depends how someone speaks. someone can have a deep voice but still sound monotonous.
i love deep voices, it just seems so manly, intimidating (in a good protective kinda way) and adult to me.
