Why does this girl freeze up around me?

There's this girl I like. I notice her staring and smiling at me when she thinks I can't see her. She also makes long eye contact with me without saying anything.

When I talk to her she seems shy and submissive. She fidgets (such as taking out her phone and pressing buttons for the sake of it) and gets very clumsy when I look at her. Sometimes when I try to talk to her when we're alone she freezes up and does not say a word, avoids eye contact and just walks away.

I'm really nice and relaxed towards her so why does she find me so intimidating?

That is EXACTLY what I do!

But the problem is, I just normally do it around confident guys.

I think guys and girls are so different, so I have no idea how to interact "properly" with guys.

So, I'll always turn out very 'awkward' and 'quiet'. I'll laugh a lot though, but my mind is blank, so I can't really say anything.

It's probably driving her crazy, and inside her head she'll be like: "What are you doing, girl?! Say something to him! Anything!"

Ahem... So, if she's like this around other guys too, she may just be uncomfortable around guys in general. But if it's only around you, she's intimidated by you, like you said yourself. As to why, I think only the girl herself knows the right answer.

Whoa she definitely likes you. She sounds like me ugh I hate that I act like that.

I'm currently acting that way around this guy in class. I'm trying not to like him anymore though so I won't act this way.

If we talk one on one though I don't freeze up after a few minutes. Like we can have a nice regular convo that flows. It's not awkward but whenever I see him I freeze and my eyes widen. I use to smile but but now it's like I'm frightened in his presence and I don't know why because I don't necessarily have feelings for him. My heart doesn't skip a beat but rather joy I feel after talking to him.

I say, if you're in to her at all, ask her out. If you take her on a date or hang out with her, she'll have to overcome it and talk eventually :)

Yeah she sounds shy. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you. If someone is shy and they like someone they can sorta focus a lot about how they're coming across to them and what impression they're giving etc which can make them nervous.

1. She likes you A LOT

Girls who aren't used to talking to boys they like act like that. Just ask her out and keep talking to her. Eventually she will become more comfortable.
