Women want to feel confident even if they don't care if you notice. They know when they look good. They're not just going to wear burlap sacks so that you don't pop a boner.

I think the answer is actually pretty simple. They are looking for attention, but not the attention of everyone. They wear sexy clothes because it makes them confident and ready if they cross a guy they really like. They looks pretty but they are like everyone when it comes to approach someone they are into.
You can see their outfit like a pill of courage, a pill it would have had been nice to have in high school when we were too shy to talk to some girls lol

Because they DO want attention. Any honest women will tell you that. But they also want to be able to control the attention and they want to be able to complain about it.

Any woman who says "I dress up that way and go out in public for myself" is full of shit and shouldn't be trusted.

First of all you have no right to say that women are attention seekers because I’ve seen guys who are like that too. And second of all you commented anonymously like a coward. Comment openly and then speak.

You yourself are an attention seeker who comments anonymously and insults women. Haha! :D

Before you say anything I’m not a Feminist because I don’t understand the concept of Feminism. :P

Women often just don't have such sexual thoughts when they see themselves, other women, and men.

For some reason men tend to think the most explicitly when they see women when a woman looks at herself in the mirror when she's wearing something sexy she probably just thinks "I look pretty and sexy" when she see's a man that looks handsome and sexy she thinks "wow he's so handsome, I'd love to date him"
when a man see's a sexy girl he thinks about sex, literal sex.

    I don't want attention.
I want to feel sexy, and when I do, it's for myself, that is why I dress up.
It isn't about attention, it's about accepting and loving our bodies (to me at least).

I totally agree with "unmistakablyme". That's why I do it as well.

However, there is both anthropological and socio-biological evidence that women draw acceptable mates by enhancing their sexual attractiveness. In this way she draws more to select from as candidates as to who is going to fertilize her eggs. Just nature buzzing, my peoples!

I wonder why guys are blamed so much for staring when they do. Even for just a few seconds sometimes. And staring can simply mean catching strong attention. It doesn’t necessarily make him a pervert. I try not to stare, but often can’t help myself. I’m a guy, so it’s pretty much in my genes to want to.

I'm not really into revealing outfit. as a bisexual who's used to wear jeans and tshirts, i think some girls just likes to dress and be happy with their self. It's not really a big deal for me as long as it's not too much revealing.

If a woman knows a male friend of hers or a male she can't avoid meeting at a job is just coming out of lust or struggling with lust and for her to dress that way knowing she could help him until he fully recovers, is not caring about his battles of lust. Why would a woman dress that way knowing there are some men she has to be around. Just cover up for the 1 hour business meeting.

Women for the most part dress sexy for themselves. They like the way they look and enjoy looking pretty. They also like the attention. Not for men to approach them, but to hold power over men

Well, they have got 1000s of outfits. And, sexy one's too. If, it's the right occasion, they wear it.
Although, the attention givers are more at fault than, the attention seekers.
Actually, some may do it for attention but, most probably are competing with other girls.

When people choose to wear something, it's usually not for you. It is for themselves.

When a woman wants to wear nice clothing, they usually do so to make themselves look and feel good. They do not wear it so that you can get a boner.

Hey guys... I'm not against any party;I'm just stating my view and most importantly the way I grew up. Well, here wearing modestly mean a person has high discipline and self control. People here have been trained in a way that those who wear provicatively are slut or prostitute. Personally I don't believe it. Dressing can't decide one's personality. But I'm worri3d about the dignity and speciality of the body

People here think that sex is an urge that should be controlled. Besides one's body no matter. ale or female should only be seen by their so. What I mean by body are private parts like boobs, ass and vagina. Most dresses nowadays shows at least little cleavage. My question is that one's body is intended tp be seen and enjoyed by their so? I know it's our body and our creedom to wear whate er we want. But what's the difference between husband and others? Both see the same thing and its only the others can't touch? Well, we only have sex with those we are interested in and not everybody. So by going with that logic, how can everybody see our body?

It's a precious thing given to us. Si when it can be seen publicly then it loses its speciality right? Rare objects are always special. Same foes for body right? We work out a lot, take care it in very well manner but when dress provicatively those who didn't involve in our success also can access it right

They like the attention. They do it for attention. That being said they only want attention like that from specific type of guys. So they also don't like it for the attention because they're after what they want. But I'm only going off of my past experiences and observation. Everyone is different and I could be wrong.

Cos it's their body and not for you to sexualise them based on what they wear. They could be wearing nothing and that's still not an invitation for you to sexualise a person

Think of how celebrities are treated in public. They don't get an easy time, do they? People take notice, offer huge attention, right? You are, a part, of the group/environment you're in, I'm sure you agree? As in, if someone looks at you or approaches and talks to you, you were there, you chose to sexualise yourself, nobody has to dominate or own you, this isn't chokeplay or spanking, it's just fair interaction because you're not in a bubble, you're not separate from the environment and people you've chosen to be in/around. Would you agree with that point, that people have a right to acknowledge and learn and interact with you, when you're in their vicinity? Otherwise you essentially come off as an outsider and potentially creepy/dangerous, at its core, people need to know you're a functional part of the group

All girls are different so even if some find certain clothing uncomfortable to wear, other girls may find that clothing comfortable to wear. Some questions like this can only be answered by those who the question relates to. Everyone else is just speculating.

Look i half agree, if you got the goods show it off. Nothing wrong with that. But you should also at least know what you're getting into when you do.

Going out in public in sexy/revealing clothing and not expecting to at least get some looks, is about as smart as jumping into shark filled waters with lots of bloody fresh cuts, and not expecting to get bit.

I personally think they try to bend the rules of reality. If you wear something attention grabbing (low cut shirt, booty shorts, tight leggings, see through leggings) people WILL look. How can people not understand that? Also, wear whatever you want, but have enough common sense to know that if your outfit is oozing sex appeal, people aren't going to just ignore it.

That maybe a creepy guy is an unwell guy? 1 in 100. Most major cities, there's going to be thousands of people around you. 100 autistic people for 10,000 people, and you think they won't stand out? That's just autism. There are plenty of issues people can be suffering. Honestly though, original poster, my advice always is just walk away. Be where you feel safe. That's not going to be everywhere, the skill everyone needs is identifying those places

Your safety matters, not trying to trivialize, but it IS your safety. Own it. Your legs look good, get away from creepy people. 10% of the population have a mental health disorder. So every 1 in 10 is potentially unstable. 1 in 20 is male. Stay clear of obviously rough areas, and personally I check my exits and have a rough plan every place I go. It's just to help you feel safer. Cities are pretty safe if you stay in the right place. But honestly the male role was always to protect, there's actually nothing wrong in needing a guy that way. Just how without girls, guys turn feral. We need girls pretty badly (we don't usually know it)

You can't decide that for them if they're just looking though. It's not even a crime, they're ALLOWED to look by our laws. And, from my experience, women who let it get to them become insufferable and think EVERY guy is looking the same way, we're ALL assholes. Predicting bias makes a huge difference to your experience. I know a fair amount of those women. Majority are single. I see no coincidence. You can just choose to walk away and think, hm. That creature was interested in me. I must have something. Cool

All women depend on social value. They don’t beautify themselves for men. They do that against their competitors. Other women. Most men don’t find it even attractive how they are making up themselves. But who is asking men about that? Women don’t. They ask magazines produced by women.

THAT'S a genuine outlier in this, fitting in with social expectations/group mentality, you brought up something important. Not even surprised one of the most sensible things here comes from a girl who isn't insecure and avoids those clothes, give your dad and mum a hug or think nice things, they did a good job on this one :)

Simple, they want attention from the men they want, just not you. Low self esteem so clothing increases their self esteem and their status (women are competitive this way). So you dress up too, but you do it to get women you find hot, not the ones that are landwhales and turn you limp. Works both ways bro.

That actually sounds along the lines of anti-social personality disorder. I say that VERY gently and with the utmost respect, I can justify my point. You're denying yourself an opportunity due to your antisocial nature. That has compulsive characteristics, and my biggest fear for you is you'll miss out on a lot of things in your life. Personal happiness and companionship aside, I know people who struggle with this have real issues holding down a job. If you're being honest with me, and I have no reason to doubt you, I'm hopeful the respect and integrity I've shown you is matched, then honestly I'd gently suggest you go and have a consultation and evaluation from a clinical professional. Nothing invasive, it's just to offer support and identify things that would help you succeed and be happier in life. You can choose to ignore me but I promise you I'm coming from a place of the utmost compassion and sincerity.

Okay. An emotional outburst. That's uncalled for but I don't entertain brats or rude people, you can see yourself out, you obviously don't have the maturity or integrity to conduct yourself appropriately in an adult conversation, or as I already suggested, you're badly in need of help and you're digging yourself a hole with your self-destructive low mental health. I hope you find what you need, I really hope you meet a person who challenges you to develop your perspective, inspires you to be truly autonomous and in control of yourself for your actual benefit, instead of repressed and angry and rude. Outbursts are always bad, if you could just see that you'd be somewhat closer to improving things
