It's commonplace for women to say one thing but mean the other. A research done by okcupid has proven that thirst traps for men do work and receive more messages in general.
However common belief tells that women despise shirtless selfies and more often than not reject them. Is it true that women say one thing and mean the other then?

I think you really can’t speak for all women, sure, women like men, are attracted to nice bodies. However, growing up with sisters, basically I’ve almost always lived with women, I can tell you for sure, many women wouldn’t have any compulsion to pursue a guy as shown in your photo for many reasons. I will provide just one example, because I doubt most guys don’t even know this common reason... because they may feel, their own body, won’t meet the requirements of desire of the guy who spends so much effort on his body, if she doesn’t have such a body, many assume that there is a risk, she may feel insecure or inadequate and won’t want to bother Another reason, is girls generally don’t like to be dating the “pretty one” between them, as a couple, or find it sexy a guy spends more time looking in the mirror than at her, it’s just a combination of assumptions that is actually really really common among women
I am assuming you mean “effort spent to possibly desire an actual relationship” when you refer to dating. I am not talking about, window shopping on Tinder, that is I suppose dating, as it usually involves two consecutive dates... but not what I was referring to.
It does work. But the downside of it is that most women who want a real relationship do not seem very interested for the most part. Because all they think is that you only have these pictures to get laid. But luckily not every girl thinks that simple, especially the girls doing the same sport as I do.
I don't show myself because I want to get bitches, I do it because I'm proud of it, it's fun when it's provoking people and also I just think it's nice to look at and more interesting than an Abercrombie and Fitch shirt.
When I had Tinder, one of the most important rules was, never swipe right if they have a shirtless selfie. Obviously it tells something about that person. Some people want that sort of people, and some people don't. I think what this is, is that the women who despise shirtless selfies are vocal about it (like myself), but women who like that sort of thing don't want to admit it and say nothing. Thus it gives the illusion women say one thing and do the other.
Shirtless selfies show that he looks good and feels confident about his appearances. Most guys are out of shape or very hairy or lack self-confidence, so if you see the pic of someone who is attractive that also has similar interests as you in his bio, why would you pick someone similar but less attractive?

It’s also pretty well known that when it comes to online dating, women have more options than men, so we can afford to be more selective.
That can definitely be true for plenty of ladies I think, but I will say not entirely so, in my case. I'm fine with shirtless pics that talk about their weightloss/fitness, like before and after pics. It shows genuine confidence and courage. And don't get me wrong we all definitely like seeing your 6 packs, just as much as you guys like looking at girls boobs and butts. I mean, if a person is attractive they're attractive, right?
But pictures like your example are obviously only there for attention. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but to me that kind of thing shows that a guy is being cocky. I like confidence, but a guy who comes off as self centered like that is a turn off. I may "like" the picture, but I probably won't message you on it because of the vibes it gives me. I think the posing has a lot to do with it, too.
Well dating sites... are (generally) for thirsty people. Therefore women are happy to play into the thirst traps. Outside of that, most girls don’t entirely appreciate shirtless photos of guys because it’s unnecessary and makes the dude look very self centered and shallow... and you know, those two things are kinda unattractive😬😬😬😬
They’re attractive but depending on how show offish they look they can be a turn off because it almost makes us worry about him being I don't know too into himself or something
I think it depends on what the women is looking for. Personally I assume the guys looking for attention. That’s a turn off. I would also assume he was easy and looking for the same in a female. I don’t like it.
It's absolutely true that women say one thing despite it being false. As do men. People in general don't know what they want. Even when they think they do

I dont despise shirtless pics. Its a nice eye candy. I just think twice about talking to someone who exposes his chest because I wonder if the guy only has this attribute to be proud of.

I think it looks really douchey, but bitches love it and go after those guys even though the vast majority of women are hideously ugly without makeup on
