How do you feel about the vibes between Ellen DeGeneres & Auli'i Cravalho?

A lot of people have mixed feelings about both Ellen & Auli'i during this interview. Many thought that when Auli'i was being sarcastic when she said, "You did your research". I don't feel she meant it in a sarcastic way. I genuinely believe that was a compliment that had bad delivery.

Many also believe that Auli'i was talking too much and not giving Ellen a chance to speak. Others counteract that with the fact that it's a talk show and the guests are supposed to be the main ones talking. Personally, I think Auli'i's charisma just came across the wrong way. I think Auli'i meant well. Maybe Ellen was having an off day or lost respect for Auli'i because of other things? I don't know. How do you feel about it?

I wouldn't look into it too much. Ellen has a "complicated" relationship with Disney; and Auili is a Disney Darling of the moment. I bet she was cringing because there was a lot Ellen WANTED to ask about but knew she couldn't get away with on t. v. And who knows? They might have had very different experiences with Disney management and impressions of the company to work for - so personally they may not see eye-to-eye on things behind the scene which could be an issue.

As for Auili, I think she's been better coached for promo spots and red carpet events than interview dynamics. It's a different speaking style and rhythm. She just got nervous and her "training" took over. It didn't work this time, but I'm sure it's saved her other times. She'll get over it especially when she's doing lots more interviews on the tour circuit for the series every year.

I see what you mean. I didn't know that Ellen had a complicated relationship with Disney. Her demeanor definitely holds up if that's the case! Although it could have been easily concealed, maybe Ellen was subliminally trying to take a jab at Disney? I'll leave this one for Mat Pat 😂

Yeah interviewing is definitely more relaxed and shorter answers and stories are better. She definitely has some time to grow and learn.

Yeah, that's what I think as well. I wish Ellen could have at least faked like she was interested in what Auili'i was saying even if she was annoyed.
