Why do girls like "confident" guys? (Page 2)

I personally like confident guys, because they are normally up beat, happy, and fun. I wouldn't date someone who is shy, or depressed, with low self esteem because then they are just going to bring me down. When a guy plays hard to get, it makes the girl want him even more even if he is a d**k, every girl wants that guy she can't have. its weird.

Not all girls prefer confident guys, it just depends on the girl and her personal taste. Some girls like the loud, fun, and outgoing guys because they're energetic and don't deal with a lot of drama.

I want a sweet shy guy but I'm not gonna make the first move because I'm not that kind of person so if he's shy he may never get up the nerve to talk or ask me out, but I want a quiet nice guy who opens up to me over other people :)

I like shy guys...but the problem with shy guys, or at least the one I am dealing with right now, is that they try to get your attention and once they do they blush and run. Makes it hard to talk to someone who is running from you. ;P

Yes! More recently I turned around to find he was watching me put on lipstick and he was leaning on the doorway (this was at work), and once I turned around he turned really red, smiled and waved at me in a shy way, and then literraly didn't know which way to go when he took off. And what is weird is that this guy is very handsome, and he is very confident around others. Around me he acts like a timid boy, which makes me wonder if he is playing me then since it is such a 180 from.

It is just when it is me and him. He is kind of inbetween the confident and shy guy when there is an additional person (buffer) there. And more recently I get a lot of that headtilt, which is suppose to be a body language sign of someone giving you a subconscious come-hither gesture. BUT I sent him a text suggesting to get together away from the office, and he never responded. I know he got it, cause he avoided me for a few days, then back to the eyes - headtilt - waving, etc. So I tried.

I like who I am but I don't talk loud or wink at girls when they walk by. Or go up to random girls at the bar and buy them random drinks because I feel like there's a better and classier way to go about things.

But ultimately I am confident as hell. The only difference is... I don't go about parading it for the world to see.

It may be possible to like someone, but it gets annoying listening to anyone complain about how much they hate themselves. The negative energy just becomes too much. I agree with Lillybear, if you want others to respect you, you need to respect yourself first.
