Why are women so sensitive?

I don’t mean to generalize, but generally women are sensitive. I have yet to meet a women who isn’t sensitive. I don’t know if I can deal with a sensitive women considering the fact that I’m not sensitive at all. I don’t cry. I get sad and depressed, but never cry. Also, I don’t get offended easily. You could say a lot of things and I wouldn’t really care. I don’t want a girl to nag to me all day and have her crying because I made a bad joke or something. Why are women so sensitive?

1.) Women are probably sensitive because of their hormones or natural stress. Usually when we're on our periods or we're just stressed, I don't know, raising a child or something, we get stressed and more defensive.

2.) Most women wouldn't cry over a bad joke unless it was completely offensive.

3.) A comment on somebody who answered this, some women are manipulative and want men to feel bad for them out of a personal gain. Or some women actually get hurt by some thoughtless comment that anyone could find offensive.

4.) Just because you suppress your feelings doesn't make you strong, hun. That's quite arrogant to say you're surrounded by weak people when you don't know a damn thing about them.

I’ll take note of your first three points. For your fourth point, people aren’t as tough as they were decades ago. People cry over every little thing. I’m strong enough mentally where I can hide my emotions if needed and not care. Crying all the time seems weak

I'll admit everyone is defensive but there's new stress to life now and we're raised differently from past generations. Like we're encouraged to feel emotions and not told to suppress them.

That and living was factually, significantly easier in the 50's, at least for whites. School was far easier to coast through with good grades than it is now, and everyone was basically guaranteed a job secure enough to comfortably raise a family in a good home. Now? A lot of people can't afford college/university, and if you aren't able to go, in a lot of places you're basically doomed to working 2-3 jobs at minimum wage just to barely afford a two-room basement suite with nothing looking up on the horizon. Heck, a lot of people can't even get a decent job after University.

Then throw in the hopeless endeavour to start a family on top of that.

Every female is born sensitive. That's how God made us to be closer to him spiritually and be supportive of men emotionally since not all men are emotional to that compacity. If a girl nags you, it means she loves you. If she never nags, it means you don't matter to her. You're just so insensitive to things that matter to women and don't know how to empathize in that way. Some are just intuitive and more sensitive than others. Most are probably Highly Sensitive People, and that is just how they're wired. Yes, there are women who aren't sensitive. But nine out of 10x their either very emotionally numb due to abuse, their either ISTJ/INTJ which is rare for females, or they're probably a psychopath.

the things is that women are raised and treated differently so we ofthen dont put that much effort into that kind of strength, furthermore, we are encouraged to be more soft and gentle
but that kind of thigns also a lot depend on personality and you can for sure find girls that are not that sensitive

Its weak if I do by my own standards. In a society full of the mentally weak, I gave myself standards of being a man. One of which is to take things with a grain of salt and to also never show your emotions (other than laughter/happiness). I couldn’t cry if you were to make me.

one thing is what society thinks and the image to maintain but you should be above that

We aren't sensitive, we just have more feeling than most men do. I personally get upset about a lot of things but I don't cry infront of others nor do I mention it half the time. Its really not a bad thing... its what makes is human?

I wouldn’t know. Haven’t been “emotional” since I was a kid. Girls all the time say that they want “emotional” men, but I personally find it weak.

Really depends on the person. I cry a bit but 9/10 is not because I’m sad but because I’m touched by a song or movie, just the kind of person I am.

Women are naturally emotional and there is no real way around it.

You may eventually find one that lacks emotional scarring and have fortitude.

You will have to be gentle with a lot of women because a lot of them are broken with baggage and chips on their shoulder.

But this applies to men too, it’s just that in today’s society men who can’t be emotional or empathize are assholes.

Women are more hormonal it’s natural, there are women out there who are less sensitive they are just rare but personally I like sensitive girls (I’m not sensitive in the slightest) but it’s fun to make them feel better when they cry for something not worth crying over, not to sound narcissistic but it makes me feel like the hero

Because they have low self esteem and it's understandable. Imagine growing up to realize that you are of the gender of less power and logic it would hurt your self esteem too. A truly confident woman is rare and should be respected at all times they are alpha to the bone

@MittenstheGlove Lol what? But they literally account for everything the asker is asking. Testosterone hardens men up so they're able to block out emotion more easily and they aren't as burdened by thoughts when working and whatnot. The caveat to this is they don't get that "mind reading" power girls have, which is just oestrogen increasing our sensitivity and intensifying our emotions, which allow us to send and pick up on more subtle social cues than men.

Well, it’s a complicated question and I’m pretty sure I know the answer so I won’t ask about history, but I want to know if girls feel forced to give their emotions or not

I mean, hormones have been the same for millions of years. Not much history to really analyse.

I've personally never felt any societal pressure to show more emotion. I don't think that's a thing in the same way guys are pressured to hide theirs. Showing emotion is kind of universally mocked, even in women, despite it being more accepted for us to show it than it is for guys.

Wait, so women can actually biologically “mindread” aka read social cues through oestrogen? I thought it was just a folk tale girls made up when they told me that they can read guys.

Well yeah. Heightened sensitivity to smell allows you to pick up on more subtle smells, heightened sensitivity to light allows you to see in the dark better, and heightened sensitivity to emotion allows you to pick up on more subtle emotions and social cues.

It's not like men aren't capable of this to some degree as well, it's just not innate, since you have to mentally work against how your own hormones are trying to make you think and feel to get there and your brain has already been shaped a little differently by your hormones' influence growing up.
