My friend keeps saying my boyfriend is ugly. Why?

First of all, im not posting this because anyone’s opinion is influencing my own. I’m posting this to get insight to the situation. Basically my friend keeps making comments like “it’s good your boyfriend is ugly because then I won’t go for him”. Obviously that’s not a good comment at all because it means 1. If she did find him attractive, she would go for him and 2. That’s such an insensitive thing to say to someone. However, I do get the feeling she likes him because she’s always texting him. He keeps it short with her but she seems a little obsessed with him, in a way that’s odd. The thing I don’t understand is why she would make those comments. He isn’t even ugly he’s attractive and she’s the only friend who says he’s ugly yet she obsesses over him. My other friends say he’s good looking but they move on they don’t obsess over it which is a good thing.

I think she's trying to cover for the fact that she actually is attracted to him, and she may actually be going for him. She could even be going for him and trying to cover up for it by saying dumb crap like this. Sometimes people who do bad things, even when not suspected, go out of their way and say stupid shit, trying to avert possibly suspicion (even if there was none in reality), but actually confirm what they're claiming to be against.
