No, women who wear makeup every day are insecure. I only wear it for a special occasion when I want to feel a little more 'fixed up'. I wouldn't wear it for a man because I'd rather have a guy know what I look like without it

Psychologically they wear makeup to sexualise themselves. The reasons vary as to why they wish to vary from wanting to feel beautiful or sexy to wanting to attract a mate and many other reasons.

You have to understand that vanity is a HUGE part of a Woman's identity in the same way and as much as sexual adequacy or prowess is a large part of a Man's identity.

We are all our own worst critics but nowhere near the level of how women judge themselves and on a primal level compare themselves with each other. They can have a high propensity to be downright vicious to themselves and other women.

For as much as we like to say that we do it for ourselves, the truth is we really do it for everybody else, men and women included.

Think about this... if we are not leaving the house and there's no one coming over, we simply don't do it. If it was about us, we would do it anyway.

Women wear makeup for themselves because they have low self confidence in their looks and makeup makes them feel confident. But to be fair, this all revolves around the male gaze. If men didn't look at women and judge their attractiveness women would not feel the same need to wear makeup. Ie would a woman alone on a deserted island put on makeup? No. So i think the truth is both yes and no.

But men hate makeup. We want someone who is confident in their true appearance and who isn't trying to look like a slut.

Not true... hell no. I mean everyone wants to look good but I wear it because it makes me feel sexy and I can do it natural covering blemishes or I can do it nasty when I'm feeling sexy or I can do it going out but I'm cute and cuddly yet I'll dance with you all night and makeout combo makeup it's like men wearing their tuxedo or casual wear or cowboy boots... depending what were doing we change our makeup by little or extreme. There's different styles and for different occasions.

Because i had a friend a simple friend, and when ever i saw her she was in hell of make up. One day i asked her that she is already beautiful then why make up. She said i just like it thats why.

It depends on the girl. In high school and middle school - I did it for myself but guys sometimes thought I liked them if I wore fancy clothes one day. I don't wear make up - I get irritated when people are dabbing my face.
