They wear makeup to look feminine, pretty, attractive, sexy, and to differentiate themselves as much as possible from men. They might do it to attract men but, more often, they just do it to look good and feel good about themselves. It's the same reason that both men and women choose certain styles of clothing or hair styles.

Usually but it could just be they feel ugly and don't want to look ugly for themselves, since most women wear makeup, its like you have to compete even if you don't want to, or people put you down lol
