I get intelligent very often in real life. I don’t talk to people online at all but the most common compliments I get are beautiful and intelligent or very pretty and very intelligent or one of those but with intelligent being more commonly used on its own.

I prefer being told I’m intelligent. People also say I am wise for my age (they’ve been saying so since I was a kid) and they also say they feel comfortable to share things with me. That is better than being told I’m pretty because people can tell anyone that they’re pretty so it doesn’t mean much.

Since I have not been involved with boys like that and I don’t go to parties or clubs, only my boyfriend of seven years has called me sexy and sometimes some of my female friends depending on what I am wearing. I prefer beautiful over sexy though.

Neither. Say "you're beautiful". It sounds much more genuine, like you're not just trying to get in our pants.

If I had to choose one though, "you're sexy" is better. I get complimented on my intelligence too much and it makes me feel a bit insecure :( like oh, but am I pretty?

Please don't tell intelligent women they're intelligent, they've heard it enough. Tell them they're pretty/sexy instead if you want to win their heart. Everyone else is complimenting her intelligence, be the one to stand out by complimenting her on something different.

I don’t really like being called sexy or hot I find it weird... I don’t know it makes me uncomfortable. I like compliments like “you are pretty” or “you look nice/lovely” I don’t mind someone calling me intelligent but I wouldn’t really date someone based on that complement. I like people who I find attractive or as I liked to call cute. If I find you hot I will still just call you cute. But I think a relationship is better if you don’t focus on intelligence or looks just on personality but finding someone with a good personality is hard finding someone who has all 3 is rare and finding someone who only has intelligence or looks is plain boring.

I think I would like Intelligent. I mean sexy is a term that is turn off for me. If I am meeting a guy on a first date, I would like him to be respectful, gentle, honest. So, yeah, if he calls me Intelligent, I would really like it. If me and that guy are dating and then he calls me sexy, I think I would like it.

Depends. If I actually am sexy. Then I’d probably want to hear I am intelligent coz I would already know I’m sexy. When someone gives you a compliment you hear a zillion times it kind of makes you want to eyeroll.
So the best compliment is one a girl hasn’t heard a zillion times.

I don't think people think I am pretty, but I often get complimented on being fit. I have been called smart my entire life, so it doesn't really register as anything but a slightly awkward compliment.

Depends on who is saying it. My boyfriend - sexy. Someone who knows me and we're not close friends should better complement on my intelligence. In any case it should be honest.
