Definitely for looks. I'm not the smartest person anyways and I'm completely content with that. It's more difficult for me to see myself as attractive so i need affirmation on my looks

Both are nice, but I think smart make me feel better. I take more time working on my mind than my body. It's nicer to be complimented in what you have more work invested I, guess.

Also I find nice that, for someone to truly notice you are smart, this person has to pay more attention and even get to know you a bit. While noticing if you are attractive or not, they can tell in 5 seconds from afar and without knowing you at all. Of course I'm considering people would be saying these compliments honestly and not just because.

Definitely for looks. Getting called smart doesn’t mean anything. Sure, it’s a compliment, but it’s not indicative of anything socially.

I’ve been called intelligent a lot. I want to be nice about it, but it doesn’t do anything for me. I appreciate the compliment and that it was offered freely, they were under no obligation to say anything but they’re paying a legit compliment.

However.

At the same time I’m always thinking “okay but what good does that do me?” I notice problems, I could correct people on a lot of things if I wanted to be pedantic and a dick. I have a decent vocabulary and that helps me at least *sound* intelligent. But at the end of the day it’s nothing. If you said I was attractive then that means something. It means I have a shot with you. It’s indicative of a social value I have with respect to you.

Yes, every girl wants to be told they're attractive, but I personally would rather be known for what's in my head than for a body I was born with because at the end of the day the skin you wear isn't who you are. Not to sound like a cheesy inspirational quote, but it's that thing under your flesh suit that really matters.

I don't care. The compliment won't make a difference in my life it's just something that happened along the way. I've been complimented for both and I'm grateful and it feels good in the moment but a few days later do you even remember? I'd rather make some progress with something I'm working on than have someone tell me something nice even though it is nice in the moment and it's nice. The main thing I like from a compliment is that I feel like I'm actually connected to the real world lol.

well I know for a fact I'm smart, but it's nice when people tell me an idea I had was insightful or helped them out in some way.

But I don't get lots of compliments on my physical attractiveness, so it would be quite flattering to hear more often.

Of course smart. I am not a bad looking guy. But i grew up i was never told i am attractive i was told more i am smart. It made my day. Gave me confidence more than looks would do. Also good brain stays with us longer than looks. People will treat albert einstein great at any age. But once justin bieber is old. He wouldn’t have many fan girls screaming

yes it possible to be both. smart and looks have no correlations. Being smart is know carrying a nice outwards appearance gets you in the door the rest is up tohow you play your cards...

when people tell me im smart its nothing special... im jus like "meh... i know... thanks"

so i would like to be called hot for a change... that would make me happy,.,,, i dont neccesarily wanna be stupid and hot... but if thats what i had to forfeit in exchange for good looks... i think id chose to be a little stupider

I don't get complimented on either so I'll take what I can get! 😂 But if I had to choose, I'd say brains. Having people say I'm smart carries more meaning than something superficial like looks.

Attractive because people can't know how smart i am. Both are subjective, but at least with looks I know they are honest. If a teacher appreciated my intellect it would be different. However, most people can't know how intelligent I am.

Smart can get you WAYYY father in life. Understand that top bosses, CEOs, people who make 6 figures are predominately very intelligent people. Smarter people are more accomplished and can do things that average folks can never dream of
