Why is calling a woman a cunt so terrible to most while calling a man a dick is seen as a lesser offense?

Cunt just sounds so aggressive and is clearly meant to hurt the person on the receiving end, and normally is aimed at a woman, kind of sounds sexist too.
Saying “lol you’re such a dick” is more in a playful sense and even sounds funny saying it, anyone can be called a dick, no one takes it that seriously. Maybe “dickhead” is more insulting but ehh.

Language used by men is generally more blunt and harsher.

Men tend to soften their language, adapting to females, who generally prefer different word choices.

So for a man (or woman) to call a woman that, means that it's deliberately aggressive.

Intent is everything.

It isn't a lesser offense to call a guy a dick, most women are just bitchy about it. Call folks a cunt to your hearts content, I know I do. Its a fact, some guys are dicks, some women are cunts. If a woman has a problem with it, then she is a cunt and didn't like you calling another woman the same name. Cunts have got to stick together you know. 👍

In all honesty I find it offensive as it misuse of a name to call someone so demeaning. Dick so to be a lesser word for that. But in all honesty it's in which context you use. I'm from Aus so a lot of the time people can call you a mad cunt and it's a compliment
