I think for a long time within human existence, women were discouraged, in whatever forms, to NOT engage in these actions.

As times became more egalitarian and progressive, women can do more and more the things they were told not to do.

BUT

While the option to do what they were told for so long not to do is preferable to not having the option (we humans want to feel like we have choices and free will to do what we want to do), it still seems as if the majority are not engaging in such behaviors.

Honestly? I find it sad that any woman would see fucking anything that moves as liberating, even though they look at men who do that as disgusting and a threat to relationships - and even as a physical threat.

In my mind, being liberated is having higher knowledge and enlightenment about life, people, or the world in ways that many other people don't have. And doesn't have to have anything to do with sexual knowledge through partners and experience. Any woman who views their sexual activity as "liberating" is honestly setting the bar very low for themselves and obviously does not value a higher lifestyle. As we move deeper into the 21st century, you will notice that an increasing number of women actually prioritize their value based on how many men they can attract and how much sex they can have with these men. Prioritizing money and careers is a close second. Ultimately more and more women are seeing power in how they can attract men, sleep with them, and even get high off of rejecting them and being able to talk about it. This is merely a knowledge of evil that actually makes themselves become hated. There is no positive "liberation" in it whatsoever.

And you can't talk about women's freedom without mentioning feminism, so let's bring up this "ism".

The thing about movements like feminism and many others that claim they fight for "liberty" (of the individual or of specific groups), is that they know what they want to be "freed from", but rarely specify what they want to be "free to do".

This is a strategy that helps a revolutionary movement, any movement, attract the maximum number of followers. To unify different groups who believe in different "limits-to-freedom", against the existing status quo.

Freedom can't be unfettered, ever. And that is why after these groups succeed, there is always infighting until one group or a coalition wins and enforces its worldview and limits. Or in other words, becomes the new status quo.

Now, feminism is just a collection of movements. Different feminist groups had and still have different limits regarding sexual activities. Some of them support prostitution, some are against it. Some of them are sex-positive, some are not. Some of them focus on individual liberty and choice, some of them don't have an individualist worldview.

The main problem? All of them know what they "don't want", but they don't agree what they want. They are trying to stay relevant too, so they never have an incentive to specify their limits. They contantly need new blood and they keep their limits vague to attract them.

As a result we have a very chaotic culture regarding sex and relationships, post sexual revolution. People aren't told what they are free to do, just the past they are now free from. Anything can be considered "liberating", if a group says so.

Now some people would say we are now living in a culture where everyone has a "choice". We are free now and everyone sets his own limits. I disagree.

A society can't exist without norms and it will disappear the moment every single person decides to set his/her own limits. We shouldn't have any illusions in regards to norms and values, since we internalize most of them very early in our lives. We are not and will never be free of society's influence.

But what's happening then? I would say in reality, in terms of norms we are still living in the corps of what we had before sexual revolution. Many of the core values regarding sex and relationships haven't changed and many people are still following them. That's one reason our societies are not falling apart.

And what's really happening with feminism is not that they are trying to give people "a choice", they are trying to influence and change our norms, gradually. It's just that dozens of groups are doing it simultaneously. Children now have a choice between a dozen groups, each one appealing to some of their needs, instead of one (mainly religious) authority that appealed mostly to our need for order and stability.

These different groups don't have a plan and their dominant groups try to include and apease smaller ones and move forward without specific goals for our culture (except when it comes to female votes during elections), so the chaos continues.

Now people might also say freedom can't exist without some level of chaos, and that is completely true.

But in this specific case, since it's tied to our replacement rate, families, divorce rates, children's welfare/financial security and mental health, even STDs, I don't think the chaos can continue for very long.

Then again, maybe I am wrong. Guess we should just sit and see where it goes. I myself prefer not to play this game at all.

It's very very simple. "Liberation" is just a synonym for choice. As soon as everyone has got a choice, the world is a much better place, or at least better than it is without that choice!

Most women, and men come to that, are decent people with no particular wish to be horrible to each other. Yeah, sure this site is full of people who have been "wronged" in some way, but a lot it is subjective, and after all it's a site angled towards people's issues. But relatively speaking, the majority of people are the good guys and gals.

Historically, the biggest reason women have not had the "choice to be promiscuous" is just the cultural norm. An ability to do something doesn't imply a mandate to do so. That's a choice. There's also the fact that most women are worried about guys, themselves, and other women judging them, regardless of how "egalitarian" or "woke" the society is... so it's happening, but you're not aware of it because of the discretion people are using.

For example, I'm a dude who doesn't like hookups but I'm sexually-flirtatious (in a cool, often-welcomed way, rarely with intention). As far as how I feel about it, it's mixed. On the one hand, I do dislike a woman who sleeps around and would not consider them date or girlfriend material the slightest. Sexual expression holds the potential to be the most deeply liberating aspect of human life. Promiscuity can be deeply healing and extraordinary, when it occurs in the right set and setting.

I think what makes promiscuity problematic is when there is a disjunct or schism between the conscious and subconscious drivers of that behaviour... OR a schism between the motivations driving the people involved.

For instance, an 18-year old might consciously think "it's not a big deal" to sleep with a guy on the first date. However, if he then ghosts, she may feel traumatized, heartbroken and used.

Why? Because subconsciously, that sexual act actually WAS a big deal to her. And it was also wrapped up with expectations and hopes of an ongoing relationship.

Conversely, there may be instances where a promiscuous act may be perfectly aligned for someone. Perhaps they are on a holiday and want a fling, perhaps they wish to experience a new fantasy - who cares? As long as both their conscious and subconscious minds are 'on board', and their partner (s) are also in alignment, it's going to be an absolutely no regrets situation.

I remember being in high school in the early 2000s and I over heard a bunch of guys laughing about have a girlfriend but fucking different girls on the side. I thought to myself, fuck, one day girls are going to say forget it, if guys do that shit we will to. To the girls/women who constantly say “you just want sex from us” or “I’ve been scorned!”, ladies, do you know how often I’ve been ghosted or rejected in extremely cold ways over nothing that serious? Many times, and I don’t even talk about sex or show dick pics or act stupid. As I’ve gotten older I’ve tried to mature bit by bit. My sister is over 10 years older then me so when she got married in 1996 at 18 or 19 that’s unheard today.

But times were different especially in the 80s and 90s. As a guy such as myself who cooks, cleans, knows how to take care of kids, works hard, doing his masters, understands the concept of in-laws, how to plan for weddings, saving up, insurance, mortgage, fixing things around the house, religion, education and etc. I know I would be a good father and husband because that’s what I want to perfect in my life but if any girl reads this and thinks I’m still a piece of shit then that’s merely her opinion.

I don't know that it is - and I have been wondering something similar for a while (even against my own intuition - to get to the point of being able to verbalise it),

I can think of these two cases:
- She 'uses' a male for 'food' in a direct form - meaning, to give her something, provide, etc - what Americans often quote as the only possible relationships between a human male and a human female. This also includes promiscuity, to some extent - if that will get her the money or the social attention/even rebellion - she can then channel to her ends
- She actually relates to a male - there is no using on either side here, since it is very similar to a friendship but more 'wholly' (i. e. whole) - since it includes the biblical/sexual aspects that friendships don't. This is in fact what we would call 'love' - in the sense the person inherently trusts/has a real relationship with the other person, and is not just leveraging them for some benefit (food, shelter, heating, company, etc)

Both men and women, when surrounded by zero available (and I mean even present) partners of the second type, will revert to the first type - not out of liking, but out of necessity (you could call it boredom or even madness to some degree - it happens when a smart girl or a smart boy is in a god foresaken town with no one who'd be semi-eligible to date as a real relationship/to marry - so then being stupid simply serves to stir up some waves/cause unrest so they send the person to a better place, or get a better person to be present in the location)

This had been going on since the sex and the city days in the 90s. I had been played twice by dudes. The first dude I thought’d he eventually cave I was just his forever friends with benefits even though we had sex literally twice of the course of years. That was so awful. So sorry that that happened to you. I know the feeling because something similar happened to me with my fiancé. She was one of a kind I suppose. It takes a long time to get past it but I had to realize that not every other person I made is like her. Or in your case every guy is not going to be like the ones you’ve met. I don’t think that it’s necessarily that the act itself is liberating. I think it’s the fact that woman can embrace that they are sexual beings who also crave sex and intimacy, that is liberating. In the past, women have been treated as sexual objects meant to pleasure men, and the women’s sexual needs are left ignored. But truth is, women like sex too. Women get horny too. I think some people find it liberating because a lot of women go their entire lives being told to not do those things so when they get the chance they take it a little extreme. Most women have been told at some point in their lives to “cover up” or “don’t act that way or men won’t want you”. They are treated like their lives are for men, so it is liberating to feel free of that. Often when people are constricted to a role they don’t want to be in, they’ll push back so hard that it ends up putting them in a bad situation. Freedom of choice is always valued. I don’t know if that has ever really mattered as there is an underground to everything, and life situations can change us drastically from one mindset to another. I think sometimes too much freedom is a bad thing and with the rise of social media and dating apps that point has been made abundantly clear. The birth rates globally are plummeting. As Elon Musk said we dont have an over population control, but an under population control and within the next few decades we're going to see the global economy buckle under it's own weight as there will not be enough tax payers, soldiers, health care workers, laborers, and most importantly consumers. How do you keep a spouse from cheating? By removing freedoms. In the case for both genders if a person cheats that person should be made to pay all the court and lawyer fees, alimony, and lose child custody. At the same time both spouses should be obliged to sexually satisfy their partners unless they are medically unable to. In which case the two can have a written contract for and agreement for one to be able to find that need elsewhere while having to stay in the household, pay the bills, and still help their spouses. This is how you keep families together.
