That depends COMPLETELY on the context. 99% of the time... like regular life. A girl crying is definitely a "turn off" insofar as it triggers a protection instinct, so sex is gonna be far from my mind.

The only time it's a turn on is... when she's crying because you've decided as consenting adults that you are going to engage in certain sexual activities which... er... well...

But like... in life, generally, I would think most guys are not going to be turned on by a girl crying. Be really careful around any who are...

      @WowwGirl

I don't know if it's necessarily a "male" instinct. It might be. But yea for sure, there's a protection instinct that gets triggered when you see a girl crying. You just want to... I donno give her a hug and make it better.

You might not know why she's crying, and you feel that way. You might not know the girl and you still feel that way. You might even have said something (which may totally be a fair thing to have said)... and if a girl cries... you feel that way.

It makes you just want to make her feel better and stop crying. The reason I don't know if It's a "male" thing is: I would think that because of babies, women also have some version of this. but... I'm not a woman so can't tell ya. 🙂

@WowwGirl haha, no, I think you DO know this because you have seen guys do this. For sure. You just maybe think of it in different terms or something. 🙂

(if you've ever had a boyfriend who has seen you cry... it triggered this same instinct in him. Think about how he reacted)

That depends on why. When it is because she opened up and we got to some deep vulnerable stuff she rarely even talks about with people, it is a sign of trust and it's great.
If instead it's overreacting or manipulation, that's a huge turnoff. There is lot in between that could fall in either category or even a bit of both.

Is the asker high by any chance?

Why would a person crying turn anyone off or on? It isn't pole dancing, thong, abs or wet t-shirt contest for fuck's sake.

Sympathy is the most appropriate response.

"Turn ons" aren't necessarily sexual turn ons. I'm of the understanding that "turn ons," initially, regarded things that attract you. Then people began using "turn on" as a euphemism for "arousing" and now it's commonly used to regard sexual attractions.

I think it has to do with being so close and vulnerable with him. Opening up and feeling safe enough to cry on his shoulder.

Depends on the situation. If she is crying because she it has something to do with her having feelings for me then I find that endearing. However I once was on a second date (and I hooked the girl on the 1st) and she inexplicably started crying when we walked home. It turns out we walked next to her ex fiancé’s place. She told me he cheated on her while they were engaged. For a split second I felt some sympathy UNTIL she asked me “can we just be friends”. THEN i was pissed and lost all sympathy for her.

@Uglyphuck read the details. I banged her on our first date and then two more times later when I said “fuck no” to the friéndzone.

At that point I was a rebound D. Fine. I myself was going through my own personal problems. My most recent ex ghosted me after 9 months of dating.

Since she insulted me with the shitty friéndzone request I felt more emboldened to take my half and I did.

Of course there's a line for everything , if anyone cries man or woman for a seemingly genuine reason then its just a matter of someone is compassionate or not. I dont have any issue with people venting or being real , in fact i take it as a compliment of comfort

I have four younger sisters, I have become virtually immune to any female turning on the waterworks, after a while you learn to pick up when the energy matches the actions. If I pick up the tear are genuine then there'll be support.
I can honestly say that a girl crying is nether a turn on or off.

I have always had a soft spot for girls crying. It makes me want to console them and make them feel better. And I know it may seem weird but I actually think girls are extra pretty when they're crying. Not only physically, like tears sparkle and human brains like shiny things, but I find the emotional aspect of it to be very attractive and endearing.

Honestly neither, it just makes me think that she has issues (that could be anything from personal to professional or anything else) and makes me think they need space or just friends and I just leave them alone.

It used to. Because women use it as weapon to get what they want. 90% of the time she's just trying crocodile tears. You get burned enough by women over this you learn it's part of their game.
A women crying doesn't even phase me anymore. She can flood the earth with her tears I won't feel anything anymore.

None of them. It depends on the context. If I notice she's suffering from something she doesn't deserv, it's normal she cries. But if she cries for making someone being sorrow of her, she's a blackmailer, nothing else we need to saw.

Turn on or off implies sexuality. I certainly don't get turned on by a girl crying. It makes me feel bad. I guess I just want to hold her and comfort her.

Neither, but a girl who cries over trivial things, things that make no sense, or is inconsolable, is a turn off. Not because of crying, but because thats nuts.

Crying for legit reasons is normal.

Well, it's not a turn-on, but it's not going to turn me off. I'd be worried and try to help her out, but it's not going to make me feel horny.

Crying has no effect upon horniness unless your a sadist or a masochist.

Turns me off generally. Makes me think something is drastically wrong. But if I know it's for a sexual purpose, reason, or role playing then why not.

I wouldn't say it's a turn off exactly, but it's certainly awkward and not a turn on in any way.

Definitely not a turn on. Her moaning in pleasure is a turn on. Crying--not so much.

Depends on the reasons, but it's not pretty.

Crying pisses me off. Anyone any age. Even myself.

Me too. Emotions are for weak people and sissies who care too much

Uglyphuck, I'm not against crying. I think crying is important and a great stress reliever.

I'm just not used to emotions. My upbringing was not nice, and my father made showed us just how much he hated people who cried. So I grew up thinking it was shameful to cry.

I like emotions now and find them important. But Im still uncomfortable around it.
