Do you think women in general are more negative and complain more then men? Cause I do. That's why although I like some women, I don't ever want to hang around them among other male friends on a Saturday night, like yesterday. Women are more likely to complain more, not have a sense of humor, get offended by any little thing, and make everything about themselves. (That's not to say I can't be negative too sometimes, but I at least have self awareness and can read the room and avoid being a buzzkill.) That's why most "Karens" tend to be white females. I dunno. To me, it just seems like women are way more likely to be a wet blanket. Although we all know some men can be too. It's just more rare for men to be negative and whiny in social settings.  That's my take on it. What do you think?

I guess you could say that, yeah. There are women who are generally more silent and reserved, but in my experience, they are more likely facing real problems and are also more likely to be suicidal if they are simply too silent. I was like that when I was 13. I lost my ability to speak for a year.

I think, statistically, women score higher than men on neuroticism. They are more anxious, and they release the tension using their speech. It's nonsense talk.

I kind of like silence though. Sometimes when I am very anxious, I need bondage and a gag. I've been practicing self-bondage for years. It's not just more convenient, but also healthier to gag (not with a ball gag) and tie myself to bed and go to sleep than call my husband to complain when he's in the middle of an important business meeting.
You probably heard it as kind of a joke, that when a woman speaks and complains too much, she wants a dick in her mouth. Sometimes that's simply very true. Anxiety makes the body tense and if a girl is stimulated all over her body and has a few tense orgasms, she might very well shut up. I'd argue it can help the average woman become more rational too, but I could be wrong there.

I don’t want to say women are more negative/ complain more because I’ve actually seen men this way. However, women like to communicate. They talk about everything. When they’re upset, when they’re happy, when they don’t like something- I believe that women tend to let things out rather than let it build up.
Honestly, I think a person in general who is negative and complains a lot is not happy with life. They may have a lot of things going on. Most people, in my opinion, who are truly happy with how things are going on in their life, it’s very rare that they will complain or be negative. But that’s me.

This is a complicated issue and it's way too easy to start using stereotypes! One thing I have noticed over the years is women don't see themselves as nags. This happened to me in reverse. I was asked by a female some time ago for $1500! This is not something that will break me by any means. She simply can't manage money and was short. What she got from me was constructive criticism of her budgeting and her lack of control. I did give her the money she asked for but told her this was a lot of money and that this can't happen again. I later learned she told a mutual friend I was acting like an old grouch and while I did give her the money all I did was bitch bitch bitch. People can and often do confuse constructive criticism as nagging! It can be if often repeated. I will say this here and repeat it for the millionth time. Men and women DO NOT communicate. This means to communicate there is a send and a receive! Communication can be broken when the person being spoken to is NOT listening! As to the negativity I have found that it is the men that are more negative. There is a lot more to add to this question, trust me! It is far from a simple thing!

I wouldn't say women are more negative, but they are more open and complain when things don't go their way. Men overall are more forgiving... when things don't go their way, we guys often just live with it.

One fine example. If a woman buys something and decides she doesn't like it, she returns it. A man, in the same situation, will often just keep it.

Women nagging men to death was a thing at least since the middle ages. There were specific punishments reserved for it. Men nagging women is not mentioned anywhere. And my experience with shared flats says it is always the woman freaking out that someone left a single timy hair in the corner above the bathtub and apparently that is so disgusting she refuses to enter the room until that atrocity is corrected.
Probably a result of generations of power dynamics within families.
On the other hand, one of the reasons protestantism was able to historically spread in Europe is that women in general said it's the right way. Men were willing to slaughter thousands on the battlefield for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Certain nobles then had to go to their lord and say "Destroy the heretics? You know, it's my wife saying all those forbidden things. What exactly do you think I am going to do about it? Well, not very much, let me tell you. You know what she is like..."
And in many cases they really didn't do anything. I guess successful tactics survive in the long run :-D

I don't know if they are more negative, but they definitely complain a lot more than men. Women like to talk, they like to share and sometimes over share. It's part of their charm. Especially when I don't feel like talking, a woman can prattle on and keep herself entertained and I hardly have to say a word.
It also helps keep me an enigma. The more they talk, the less they know about me. And that's fine with me.
I can safely say that keeping my mouth shut definitely became an advantage in my divorce. Years before the divorce, I already knew I could not trust my ex-wife. So I quit telling her shit and she yammered on so much, she didn't even realize I quit talking to her in any meaningful way. I wasn't rude, I just didn't fill her in on what I thought, felt, did or did not do. Didn't matter since I couldn't get a word in edgewise anyway, but I quit trying and she did not even notice... 'til later.
Then started "Why don't you ever open up to me?"
Me: "About what?"
Her: "What are you thinking?"
Man do I hate that question... Sometimes, I am literally thinking about something so stupid or absurd, it's hard to believe it would cross anybody's mind. About things like science or philosophical conundrums rolling around in my head.
And then, other times I would think how much I loathed her. When she touched me it would make my skin crawl. I was hoping that one day I wouldn't feel that way about her anymore, but she leveled up and got herself a boyfriend.
She destroyed my family, my whole purpose for being. That broke my heart into a million pieces. I was there for the kids and the family. The pain on my kid's faces when it came to light what she had done, I will never forget.

Yes they are. And not because necessarily because they are women, but because society has allowed them to have the luxury of complaining and not taking accountability. Something men don't have because men should "man up" and deal with their troubles. Explains why as you said, women are usually easier to offend. A very simple example is that you see them create movements like "Body positivity" which is all about women, really. Not to forget to mention modern feminism which bitches about basically anything and create drama out of thin air while denying the fact that western women today are the MOST PRIVILEGED they have EVER been throughout history.

I actually think they start out more positive than men, but at some point in their twenties it's like someone flips a switch, and then they rapidly start to become more and more negative as they get older, quickly overtaking men.
I reckon that's as big a reason for older guys going after younger women as their looks.

As a woman and living with other women in the house, I would have to say, in my opinion, that we do tend to complain and/or speak our mind more than men tend to do. It's not meant to sound semester or anything like that, but women are more emotional than men. We tend to express our feelings more than some men do. Trust me, I've been around that.

Male attention is for a halfway attractive girl not really something worth, while for every guy is attention of a girl the golden prize. That's why men don't criticize women and some girls abuse it while sully the mutual conversation with negativity of their own thoughts.

But maybe it can be about men do not express their feelings like us and may be they feel bad but they do not complain so we do not know. PMS can be the big factor about this too. Before menstruation we can be easily irritated.

They don't complain because they feel the need to. It's a common phenomena called "bitching". It is not fortuitous that between the two genders, the term refers to the female dog rather than the male, which might have sounded something like "mutting".

so based on my life experience women are more emotional, more quick to freak out, but also more ready and able to give positive reinforcement, encouragement, and well... hugs. So imho it's kinda balanced out and not really that they are more negative. But man oh man do some of them hold a grudge! WOW!

It depends which ones. Some are much more realist than men some are men-transgendered-to-girl (a good 1 in 10 is, some places higher %).
Some do whine and complain and expect men to arrange it all for them, yes. That type exists - perhaps not a majority, but a very vocal and annoying large minority.

Well one thing I've noticed over the years is that if a woman complains or whines or is upset about the way things are in her life someone will come to her rescue, because there are plenty of white knights willing to help her, while a guy is going to be on his own

Yes.. women tend to complain more, but it really does come down to the fact that men in general hate to complain and instead would rather quietly find solutions. Not because they have nothing to complain about.

Nah. Most women are just naturally talkative, some more than others.

However, understand that PMS is a thing. When estrogen and serotonin levels are low, we get moody/sad, and being so talkative, we'll speak about how we're feeling to relieve stress. As another user mention, consensual sex is a great way to help us out, because a lot of times that's all we need.

They’re not negative is in their nature to create problems. As they need to talk about things forever and ever without wanting any solution.

Yes. Although, a guy can be overly optimistic too. So a man & woman can make a good team if they know when to go with her perception & when to go with his. Sometimes the answer is in the middle.

Yep, women and girls tend to be more complainantive and negative. That's because they have more emotions and they think about stuff way too in-depth. I know from personal experience.
