I have been dating Emily for 5 months. We get along really well and I enjoy being with her.
Although we live in a large metropolitan city we only live a few blocks from each other. It makes seeing each other super easy. Also, we get to see each other whenever we went.
She is a Masters student in a medical program and I am a masters student in a history program. The newly admitted students in her program came in for orientation last week.
During this week each current student is paired with a new student to answer any questions, etc. The guy she was paired with was Mitchell.
Because Mitchell does not live in the area he is looking for housing in the city we live in.
He calls or texts her asking questions about where to live and asked if he could have her books for the next semester (his first semester).
When she agreed he came over at 9pm on a Saturday. Apparently he was looking for housing which is why he came over so late.
Myself, Emily and Emily's roommate were all around when Mitchell stopped by.
Later in the night we went to a bar (Mitchell's idea).
I found it kind of shady that this guy wants to come over at 9pm on a weekend night for his books.
In fact he did not pick up his books until the next day.
School does not start in 2-3 months.
The following day Mitchell and another new student as well as Emily and her roommate (all of these people are in the same grad program) went out to dinner.
They made dinner plans...when I was there.
I wasn't invited. She told me I wasn't invited because I don't always invite her when I go out and that she thought I'd feel left out since all they'd be doing is talking about their grad program.
Lastly, Mitchell came over yesterday to Emily's place because he didn't want to wait in his car while waiting for a Realtor to look at a house. This made no sense to me.
That just seemed super sketchy to me.
Now, I don't have a problem if my girlfriend has platonic male friends, I have platonic female friends, but I feel like something is a bit shady.
Mitchell knows Emily and I are together and Emily even told me that Mitchell was coming over before when I wasn't there.
While she is upfront with me about how she knows Mitchell and when they hang out I just have a weird vibe.
Am I just being paranoid? Or is something up?
