Why is blue associated with boys?

The whole Blue boy pink girl system we have currently is weird because historically Blue has been a fairly feminine colour associated with linking the water with the sea. Red has been the more masculine colour with fire, anger, power etc. so why had blue been the definitive colour for a baby boy? Shouldn’t it be red? And girls blue?

Historically, the color blue was a female color. In a 1918 edition of Earnshaw's Infants' Department we read:
"The generally accepted rule is pink for males and blue for females. The reason is that pink, being a stronger and stronger color, is more suitable for males, while blue, which is more delicate and graceful, is more suitable for males. is better for females. "

In Catholic countries, moreover, blue (and light blue) was associated with the color of the veil worn by the mother Mary and therefore indicated feminine purity.

I don't know... but as a little girl I always liked pink and I don't think it's because I was told to like it. In fact when you look at children's toys, girls' toys are often pink... it's not by accident, it's because the producers know that this colour really appeals to girls.

As for boys, I couldn't tell you. The little boys I know don't like pink but I don't think they care that much about blue neither, not the way girls care about pink. So maybe it was just associated with boys as the opposite from the girls' colour for marketing reasons?

I personally don't give a shit. blue has been my favorite color since I was born. My birth stone is even blue :) also you must not know many hispanic males because they love pin... Salmon color. Due to their father I think my sons own more pink (ish) clothing than I do.

men have blue blood after mating season when the female transfers her eggs down his throat. the blue color is filled with more rich oxygen which helps them carry and ventillate the egg sacks kept under their throat so we associate blue with men.

females are pink because they tend to feed exclusively off crabs during the winter season and they adopt that pigmentation

In the 1940's clothing makers switched it. Pink was boy color and blue for girls. Way back all children wore white so that bleach could be used. All children wore dresses so diapers ( clothe ) could be changed. Their is a picture of FDR as a boy in a dress. Some women decided to wear pink in Europe also bucking the trend of blue and pink. I was curious about this previously some women and men love pink panties. I wear panties most of the time.

Nope. You're wrong.  Historically there never was a "gender colour". It wasn't until around the 18th century that the British Crown made the distinction at events, and it's spiralled from there.

Because it looks boyish, and pink looks girly, end of story... I don't care about the past... Blue looks boyish now and if you made pink a boys colour it would be confused... There's no reason to change it other than to appease snowflakes who aren't happy with anything, and they can jus fuck off in my opinion

Maybe a stereotype that boys can be cold and evil and have no feelings, and girls are only happy, warm and joyful.
