It goes both ways though.
There's lots of obese or otherwise less attractive women around, but most guys don't even look twice at them let alone wonder if she's lonely.
Nobody's going to date anyone out of pity. Everyone goes for their best options.

I felt more lonely in some of the relationships I've been in. I live alone and am happily single. Not lonely. But yes, as for the lonely
I've been there. It's a little different for guys. Gals don't all feel that longing the same way... that want to relate to females the way we want to... the dance. a fulfillment of validation... sexual more than ego.

Doesn't that depend on the man? Some men are lonely, some aren't. Some women are lonely, some aren't. I don't look at random men and assume they're lonely, nor do I assume that of random women. But if a guy tells me he's lonely, I believe him and I sympathize with him. But no, I don't look at the guy giving me my coffee at Starbucks and contemplate how lonely he may be.
