Is it sexist or Bad ass to develop a zero to hero Female character?

Broken characters whether male or female are the most iconic characters of all time they learn they build they firm friendships they solve problems and get salutions and grow

A character that rises out of her Broken battered stay and environment and that grows from her experience. She goes on a journey of discovery. Hardships turmoil and Still manages to come out on top
She learns to fight (same training as the males) , through difficult learns to solve problems, find solutions and help others.

I think people usually resonate better with zero to hero stories where we go on a journey with our lead; seeing their struggles, failures and set backs as that helps to make their successes, bad ass moments and clutching victory by a hair of a difference so much more meaningful as it feels earned and much more satisfying that we know how hard they worked to get there.

Plus on a subconscious level many can relate and understand what it is like to struggle and fail so even if the protagonist is different in appearance or in the struggles they face we relate to them on a human (even if they are non-human) and empathetic level. Now there is not anything necessarily wrong with having a bad ass character from the start (authors and creators can write/make whatever they like) the issue lies in the details and backstory. If a protagonist has a backstory showcasing hard strenuous training or death defining missions as part of their lifestyle or organization it would make sense they have certain skills and abilities.

The issues arise when say you have a character for example skilled in hand to hand combat trained to be one of the best but hasn't had much exposure to weaponry or technology from the environment they are from and the backstory they have. But, then all of a sudden when they are thrown in situations with said weaponry and technology they dominate not only enemies in those areas but other characters that should be more skilled in those particular areas as well. We now know that no matter what the story will protect this character as they have them excel no matter what the threat or challenge is thus, their is no real threat or challenge.

Now it would be understandable if said character who is a master of hand to hand combat is able to defeat foot soldiers in that type of fight as they have an established skill and those enemies are clearly weaker. But, should our character meet an enemy who is another master in their skill it wouldn't necessarily serve the story or our protagonist well to have them dominate that enemy who is meant to be a main villain. If our hero defeats that villain with ease they have sent a message to the audience that the villain is not a true threat; there is nothing to overcome for their next showdown if they have already been bested. Unless your protagonist is meant to have a character flaw of overconfidence and in the next match they lose severely as well as something important to them as a result that could be very interesting.

The point is a zero to hero story is a great model to use it all comes down to execution and application.

I have no idea but it's definitely not Rey. I think it'd be cool though, like the female equivalent of Rocky complete with getting her ass kicked by the training in the beginning only to start kicking the training's ass.

But I would cast an ugly woman. Or at least not a conventionally pretty girl. She is beautiful but I would cast it differently from 99% of Hollywood wanting all these pretty girls. I want the ugly but strong-looking and charismatic girl.

This is good. But I think Hollywood fucks up a lot in casting. They do with guys too like casting The Rock. He's not a good actor like Sly or Arnie unless it's a comedic role. I would be very picky on the casting. I want female superstar who is so charismatic like Arnie or Sly.

Definitely bad ass if done well. I read a lot of Light novels and manga and I've always been disappointed with the lack of strong female lead characters. Actually, I recently decided on writing a light novel myself, and it will feature a very strong and badass female lead. I have already done some sketches of her and am very much looking forward to writing her story.

Get the basic idea on scrap paper do a couple of draft's until you find an idea that works. Don't expect perfection on the First draft.
