At Happy Hour shortly thereafter, she told me she’s liked me and has had a crush on me. I told her I have too. She was happy to hear it, but then followed it up with “damn I have a boyfriend though. I really wish we had this conversation 5 months ago (before they started dating)”. The rest of the Night there was some light playful flirting, soft touches here and there etc. nothing more than that though.
after that night, I told her that it wasn’t just tipsy talk and that I meant that I was into her, and that I knew she had a boyfriend but if he singles her up, im interested (and obv nothing can happen while they’re together)
Since then we’ve just talked when it’s organic and got to know each other more. Definitely always eye contact when we talk to each other. We’ll get lunch together at work.
I notice when we talk now, it’s not weird at all. She doesn’t avoid interacting with me. I notice she never brings up her boyfriend either. Like I’d expect her to be like “my boyfriend and I went here last week” to passively tell me to back off some, but given every opportunity she makes the conscious effort to not mention him to me. It’s just with me, because I’ll overhear across the room her mention stuff to other co-workers about plans they have.
I guess my question is more like, what is likely going her in her mind with the situation? My opinion, she’s not sure on me yet, and wants to get to know me more before making a final decision on her current boyfriend (which I’m sure she likes since she’s dating him, just not sure how much). I just find it a little odd that we openly said we like each other, and she makes no attempts to create space, or back me off because of her current boyfriend.
