Umm just why? Yeah I’d be judging unfortunately. Breastfeeding is fine but not till that age. That doesn’t seem moral or ethical at that point he has teeth and can talk. I start to side eye people when their child is two and they’re not making any effort to ween. After two I think they’ve gotten all the IQ and immunities they’ll need. Whatever happened to I dunno giving the child ice chips to chew.

It's totally normal and wouldn't bother me. Kids are meant to be breastfed until their adult teeth come in or till around 8. The mom is only doing what's natural. If the kid was 10 or older I'd have a different opinion but still they prob wouldn't bother me

6 years old is too old. Also, time and place. It is bad table manners to breastfeed in a family restaurant in the same way a couple making-out would be, but I wouldn't think twice about either of those activities taking place at a park outside.

But as long as you're not being obnoxious, most people avoid unnecessary confrontation and will not say anything to you.

no, I'm around that now and I humbly submit do whatever you have to do, I'm good with whatever. People should just shut up and mind their business. having a young kid is a lot of work.

I wouldn't mind or judge her, but there are solutions for feeding a baby in public and I would wonder why she chose to breastfeed instead. I think there's like this breast-milk sucking thing and then it puts the milk in a baby bottle. My mom would use them all the time.

I wouldn’t “judge her” since when was it MY place to judge anyone’s behavior? But I would think it was strange as hell! Also, perhaps that household might benefit from a visit from child protective services, and mom would certainly benefit from a parenting class.

Not judge, simply ask why. It's not common but it's not unheard of. I just don't see why it's necessary. It's meant for feeding the child until they can start eating more solid foods. At that age, it's just unusual.

TBH, yes I'd find it strange. However, at the end of the day, stangers' opinions shouldn't really matter. If you, as a parent, find that to be best for your child given their circumstances and situation, then go ahead and do what you feel is right for them. Those on the outside looking in don't have all the facts and details.

No. I only have power over what I think I would not do if I ever become a mom and breast-feed. I probably wouldn’t want to breast-feed at that age. I will pump after two years old and them on put bottle.

I'd judge the kid, LOL If he's 6 yo and still needs to suck milk from momma, then there's definitely something wrong with him. All normal kids outgrow that need at what... 2 years of age? Maybe 3 tops, in very rare cases.
