Girls, when you post photos revealing your body on social media, what's the reason?

Lately I've been realizing that it's very common to find girls posting photos revealing their bodies on social media, including bikini pictures, turning on purpose the bum to the camera or focusing the camera on the breasts. While I don't think it has necessarily a sexual or romantic meaning, I do think they're trying to achieve something by showing their bodies like this, and I wonder what's the reason behind that.

In a great number of cases, it is just simple need for validation and seeking attention.

Those girls are typically the ones that lack self confidence and need others to give positive comments to boost their ego. It is a childish behavior that is indicative that everything in life is actually revolving around them.

A lot of them obviously lack maturity and are trying to get the most positive comments as possible. Also, it is a cheap way to get more followers in order perhaps to gain an advantage over the "competitors".

Not only is it futile but also demonstrates that they are very superficial in life.

I don't, but I did when I was younger and it was because I liked the attention and coming from a nudist family, it didn't seem like such a big deal to me at the time.

I don't do nudes anymore after some ended up on the internet. Some GAGers have still sent me their's anyway.

Yeah but I'm not asking exactly about nudes, it's more about those photos on social media on which the girl is showing off her body.

Not necessary for me but some girls like to do it. I don't see anything wrong with it. If they get attention and it's not all the wrong kind and they enjoy it, then all is well :)
