How do you know a woman is trying not to appear too eager via text but she still sees you as a possbile boyfriend?

I suggested an interesting event was coming up and she suggested we'd be going together. This happened over text since we do not see each other that often. When we texted about the event, she saw my messages and replied within 10 minutes. However once the day was set, when I sent a text about something practical she waited hours to open and read it. My last text was about something practical and a bit of funny flirting as well to which she replied with lol a smiley and something like see you then. Is she still into me or not?

Be patient, I hate this thing we all do where we judge how long it takes for the other person to read and answer our texts! There was a guy I liked, and all week we were texting, so it was a pretty quick back and forth. But when the weekend came, because I was driving home (about 2 &1/2 hours) and I never check texts when driving. He asked me a benign question, but about 90 mins later he texted “huh? I guess you loose interest pretty quickly” that REALLY upset me because he didn’t ask if I was okay, he didn’t get so worried about my safety that he called me, he just sent a nasty text! Still I texted him and told him I was just busy and couldn’t answer his texts. He seemed fine until same thing driving home he texted me during my drive home, and I waited until I got home. This is what I read
3pm Hey
3:10pm You there?
3:15pm I can’t believe you are doing this to me AGAIN!
3:17pm Oh well, I guess this means FUCK ME!!!
So from “Hey” to “FUCK ME!!!” In 17 minutes? That’s insane, jesus, it takes me longer to shower that 17 minutes! So don’t worry about how long it takes for her (or him) to text you back… you have no idea what’s going on with them or what’s going on in their lives. If you want to know where you stand, ask the person involved! If they are interested in you, they’ll let you know, and likewise, if they are not interested, they will also let you know. Stop assuming shit, based on how long it takes them to answer your text. This isn’t middle school anymore, we are growing up, we have college or jobs now, (or both) and believe it or not, bosses look down on texting at work, and professor’s look down on texting in class! So since the world does not revolve around “you”, maybe give them a couple of hours, before dropping another text, and at least a day, before you begin angrily shit-texting them!

Thanks for your reply. I know she likes me but I don't know in what way. I will find out on the day itself. She's divorced now, but even when she was married there was tension between us, she clearly felt attracted to me and vice versa. But since she was married nothing was ever outspoken. I think she still grieves somewhat for her divorce, so I don't know how she truly feels. I will talk about it I guess when we go to that event.

Thanks, I really care about her. It wouldn't take much to fall for her but I'm careful. I have had other women showing their interest by gazing, asking all kinds of personal questions, touching me, rubbing their breasts against me while passing but it was all about attraction, none of them had feelings for me except a couple of them whom I dated and was together with.

if you think she's still hung up on the divorce, I think you should give her some space. you'll find out about it when you meet with her soon. but yeah, do be careful and never give your love easily.

The last time I saw her was last week at a huge party where we had a long talk and when we were apart and I was looking for her in the room I saw her gazing at me with big open eyes, when I passed her once during that party I smiled at her and she smiled carefully but her whole face was red from blushing. Unfortunately I couldn't leave with her but the next day I texted her about the event and she immediately suggested we should go together.

Good Luck... After event, given you two are together etc... and it's daylight... and there's a Trader Joe's nearby... go there and flower shop together... and I mean together as in have an opinion BUT yield. Flowers fix and make things grow. I only know this because I've done it myself :-)
