Girls, do you care about being friends with guys?

Ok, as a guy, hear me out. I don't really care to have friends who are girls unless I see some potential in her to date her or be in a relationship with her. I think it's tough to be friends with the opposite gender, especially if you find them attractive but you can't be with them. Either because they are already taken or don't like you in that way. Plus, I am different -- I don't drink, party or do drugs so I will have no common ground with a girl on my interests in life. Sure, if a girl is into a sport I am into or political issues/political activism we can share common interests and keep that bond of friendship. But my opinion is, if you don't have similar interests, she doesn't like you in that way, it's not easy to remain friends.

As long as I don't fall in love with them it's cool. Well I'm awfully shy around guys so right now it would be hard.
